From a cab driver in New Orleans

Years back sharing a cab from the airport, the cabbie was telling us all about various things to do in the french quarter. There was a passenger with us who was a little sour and not too excited about the music, food, etc.

The cabbie said "well honey, if you can't have fun in New Orleans, maybe you just can't have fun"

The first 3 years of a child's life is spent teaching him to walk and talk.
You spend the rest of his life teaching him to sit down and shut up!

He's so miserable, he'd complain about the way you hand him a $100!

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. George Orwell

Then I drove down Western Blvd in Jacksonville on a Saturday evening and saw those baby faces with the short haircuts walking in pairs and small groups and thought, I would not describe them as 'rough men' .
But I am thankful they are willing to do what is asked of them.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.
