Show Us Your Snow!
Took this pic of the Catalina Mt's as we were driving into Tucson last evening. If you look REALLY close you can still see a dusting from a few days back in the left side under the moon. After living here in the desert for only one year we seemed to have climatized quickly. 26 years of snow and sub 0 temps in Colorado, some freezing temps and a little dusting on the Mountians has us yearning for spring already.
Being "Snow Challanged", and with Christmas right around the corner, we would love to see your snow...

Enjoy your High Dessert. We certainly love it down there, too. Here in Virginia we are hoping NOT to be able to show you any snow until we leave for The Canopener in Florida after the first of the year. One day soon we hope to camp under the shadow of Mt. Lemon.

I don't like these kinds of pictures. Reminds me that we're stuck in the snow here for the next couple of months.

We did get some of the white stuff last year right here on the desert floor. Of course it was gone quick...took this pic of the Tucson Mountains from our backyard in the morning before it was gone....sure not like Alamosa Co when it came and stayed from October till the March winds started...Burrrr...glad we're not shoveling anymore!

Snow... the stuff to avoid
Here is a picture of Sylvia last winter at home. This winter we are south trying to avoid the cold and snow. It seems like it follows us but we're trying to get away from it.

Wow! Sylvia looks cold, my brother lives in Rathdrum Idaho by Cour d'Alane, they always get lots of snow, but we only visit them in the summer.

We narrowly avoided the 2nd snow storm of the year when we left ME. in Nov. Heading out toward the desert next week from the Carolinas. Get out before the white stuff starts falling here. Trying to avoid anymore pix of snow on Raquel! Love your pix of the Catalinas though. Can't wait to camp in that area. Lived in Tucson for a couple years back in the '90's. Mt. Lemon rocks! (pun intended)

Good job with the bags and tape!...Raquel looks very cozy....We just had record rain here in Tucson. The last three days have been very wet...haven't seen the Mt's yet should be some additional snow up there...

This was after a weekend in Camp Verde, AZ to help Richard (azflycaster) celebrate his retirement...the first weekend in November. We took 260 east from Camp Verde into the western end of the White Mts to pick up highway 87 to head south. This is above Strawberry, AZ... With the weather we had earlier this week this area is now under a couple feet of snow... Gotta love Arizona.

Oh, we can see that the snow is pretty good on the mountain (and everyplace else)! Be prepared for the cold, though!

We're not quite as cold as Alamosa, thank heavens! But -2F this morning was sort of chilly. We'll have a few rigs here during Xmas. Probably wind up filling a whole bunch of propane for them. It takes a lot of gas to keep a rig warm during this season!
We didn't host the rally this year because we wanted ourselves to go to the Balloon Fiesta rally (finally!). I don't think they're planning one for next year, either, but ... well, I'm not that privy to DenCo's plans. I do know that the NM unit is coming up sometime late, maybe late August or so.
We are planning to go to the Region 11 rally in Cortez. I think that's in October.

When we were in the deep freeze we used to say "cold is cold" wouldn't matter if it was -2 or -30, it's cold....now were saying "hot is hot" hundred and two or hundred and twelve, it's hot...only our hot won't last as long as our cold used to...and we can get our snow vicariously with pic's like these my brother sent from Idaho....
