When I Worked with Fleetwood
I was sent to Pennsylvania to open the building for set-up. At the time I was the Purchasing Manager.
The new plant was in Paxinos, PA. The village was pronounced "Packed Sinus."

Eastern Pronunciations
Have been raised in Bakersfield we lived in the San Joaquin valley.
Vistors to California, pronounced this as "San Joe-a-que-in." As opposed to "Wah-keen."

Two truckers had been driving all night in a thick fog. Since road signs were not easily seen they quickly became lost. Weary, they stopped a diner. One driver asked the waitress, "What town is this?"
She smiled and replied, "Saskatoon!"
The trucker turned to his partner and exclaimed, "Holy jeeze! We're so lost they don't even speak English here!"

Sort of along the lines of this thread:
A section (suburb) of Ottawa, Ontario is called "Gloucester". Now if you're British, or live there, you'll know that it's pronounced "Glawster".
However, I was once given directions to it by a young lady that called it "Glue-Chester".

Another one that has to do with British names: our TT is in South Frontenac, Ontario, and one of the areas we go through to get to it is called "Loughborough".
Now, my sister-in-law, who is from Jolly Olde England, tells me that "over 'ome", that name is pronounced "Low-burrow". However, the residents of Loughborough all call it "Luff burrow".
There are mighty few that would get the humour though, I figgah.

Datil, NM rhymes with cattle, which there are a lot of. Pick up your "Jesus loves cowboys and cowgirls" bumpersticker at the general store.
