No Smoking at AIR Forums
I wish to announce a new No Smoking policy for members and guests while viewing AIR Forums. Enacted by an 8½ to 7½ vote of the moderators, this new policy addresses one major theory of clearcoat corrosion and running gear imbalance. The proliferation of broadband computer connections is known to allow second hand effects to cross over to non-smoking members' Airstreams.
This policy is effective immediately and runs for one year. Bring any concerns to a moderator and they will be added to review and reenactment processes scheduled for April 1, 2009.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Are members allowed to smoke outside if they stay more than 25 feet from the entrance?
Little known fact: If you submerge a loop of your broadband cable in a 5 gallon bucket of chilled water, it will filter out the secondhand smoke.
I learned that from a guy who used to work at Cisco.

Does this imply that two of the moderators are half wits?
A good idea in any case. . . we all know that where there's smoke, there's fire, and we don't want any flames on this forum. . .

I heard they used to be full wits, but spent too much time in enclosed spaces with Vulkem. Even half wits can be functional mod team members and so long as we have 2, then together they comprise a full moderator.
Today this mixed team has been assigned to the 'Off Topic' Forum.

Interesting.
Here I thought one had to have optical rhectosis to have second hand broadband'itis.
Does this mean we have to wipe our feet twice when entering anothers Airstream?

As long as your state, county or local gov hasn't put the KiBosh on that as well. Here in IL, you cannot smoke in any public area. Not that I smoke, but one clown (read politican) was trying to stop people from even smoking in their cars. It didn't pass.

I don't inhale - I don't really even smoke (much). And I always use a screen protector. That's how I keep my phone looking new and fresh.

In Saudi Arabia, you can't smoke in your car during Ramadan.
Do we want to be like Saudi Arabia?

Run the gauntlet!
In Ny there is no smoking indoors---that means you have to pass all the smoker's standing just outside the door. Disgusting!

Remember the old days, when people smoked on airplanes and at hospitals.
That was before the P.C. crowd tried to take over.

I think more meant like the 24h before flight no-alcohol-rule like for pilots... Which is (for pilots only!) 24 h(alf) steps in front of an airplane no alcohol - so just keep the right distance to your plane and you'll be fine!
Just Wondering how one should scroll down a forums page with a great distance to the computer...
