Love Vintage, I think if you read all the responses to my original post, you will find that I've defended both parties connected with the trailer. Having lived/worked in Canada and met people from Moncton, I understand the firey response, but I think you overdid it a little. I'm not really the bad guy you make me out to be. Darol

You pride yourselves on being owners of "old Airsteams" often at great monetary cost and you have the audacity to criticize the original owners, who lived the once-in-a-lifetime, Caravan life.
They should be revered, they are living History and we should learn from them and be thankful.

I agree, may have over-reacted, to this posting, on this site.
In our part of the world, this post would never have happened. The public backlash would be never-ending. We were raised to respect our elders and appreciate their knowlege and learn from their life experiences.
We too, encounter seniors who are difficult, and at times rude, crochety etc. But, in our part of the global community, out of respect for "those who came before us" we would never discuss these issues in a public forum.
Canadian, that's who we are...love us or hate us, this our lifestyle.

Love, join the international community of over reactors.
Last time we were in Moncton (2004) it was because we got lost looking for cheap gas. We found the rush hour, no cheap gas. I really want to make a dumb joke about my age and getting lost, but will refrain, just this once. Been to NB three times over a 50 year period and always enjoyed the province.

French Canada
"There's no Canada

It's the best Canada

There's no Canada

A little song I once heard that I thought was pretty cool....
Respect is not earned by age, but rather by actions.
I give every stranger a healthy dose of respect. They then either warrant it or blow it depending upon what comes out of their mouth. Doesn't matter how old they are.
Go Quebec!

Jim, A fun song but I wouldn't recommend singing it on a street corner in Calgary or Edmonton! How did this thread become an international incident???? Darol

Aw, I was just jokin'! I heard that song on a tv show one time
Seriously though, I do have an uncle from Quebec and he and all his friends up there seem pretty cool. Good thing his English is better than my French: No parleyvoufrancaisbien
Oh, and one of my all time favorite sports heroes is from Calgary; Brett "The Hitman" Hart. yeah, I loved wrestling back in the 80's!
I do try to respect my elders. I do most all of the time. Except when they're driving slow in the fast lane
OK, I'll knock it off. I do hope you get your trailer though. It does sound really nice. I still hope to buy my grandpa's '58 Traveler some day.
Take care and good luck!

Hey Darol, International incidents aside, have you done anything more to acquire that AS....or did you decide against it?

2Air, Yes, a trailer! Lets not steer this thread in yet another controversial direction. You would be proud of me, too, because this one comes with a Hensley. Darol

Darol,
I hope this newer, better trailer, with a Hensley, is a good one! Naturally, more $$... but "you're worth it"! Go for it! Hey, we only live once!

Steph, how right you are, when I overnighted at Wal-Mart one motorhome woman was out carrying a cane. Not a bad idea all in all trapsing about after midnight in the lot.
