Oh come on now, we need a little bit more information than that. Who did you meet, how many trailers, did you take yours, which was your favorite and why??? Where's the pictures? That should do for starters.

OK Brad,

We were their also with the 1979 Safari. We saw a Westcraft in restoration with a COE REO as the tow vehicle, a 1959 Ambassador with a 1959 2Door Cadillac tow vehicle, a 1953 Silverstreak, a 1953 Flying Cloud (original family ownership, grandparents were founding members of WBCCI with the number 79, did not renew for a few years and now cannot obtain same number, boo boo, but the numbers are still on the trailer) about 15 Airstreams from 1953 to our 1979, an Argosy, many Silverstreaks, in fact they have started a Yahoo group this weekend, Shastas, Avions, a 1949 Cadillac tow vehicle, original flathead V8 engine, Teardrops.

Did not take pictures, it is a problem at an open house when your trailer is on display also.

But here are two of the inside of a fantastic Spartan:

Vintage Vacations Rally

I,too, went to the rally yesterday and saw some trailers that were incredible. This was basically my first time seeing well restored trailers in person.Met Craig Dorsey and many others. The day couldn't have been more beautiful and that Newport Dunes is fabulous. The last time I was there was for an eighth grade field trip.I will post pics under my profile as soon as Janet teaches me how.BTW, I am going to sneak into the next Rally at Temecula,Ca. in July. That one is hosted by Dayton Taylor at www.VintageTrailerCrazy.com.Lot's of fun stuff planned in a beautiful southern Cal local.Dayton assured me I wouldn't get egged in my new rig.

Newport Dunes

We were at the rally too. What a great eye opener. We're new to our Airstream, and have rebuilding her for a few months. It was great to see the older models in such good shape. I too was very impressed with the Spartan Manor listed above. It was beautiful. Hopefully next year we'll be ready to attend the rally in our A/S. Even though we live in Newport!

PS. Great people. Very nice, and welcoming!

Gotair,

Go to Craig's website: www.vintage-vacations.com His rules are pre 1970, but we went with our 1979 and there was an Argosy which has to be post 1971. A few other trailers in the 1970's but mostly 1950's and 1960's with some even older.

There will be a VAC rally at the Dunes from October 4 to 8 open to WBCCI and VAC members, you will be more than welcome as long as you are WBCCI. If you are not a member and don't want to join for some reason, there are 382 sites and you can always make a reservation directly and visit. Same thing for the Vintage Vacations rally. We did meet a fellow El Camino Real Unit couple who were there for the weekend in there 2004 Safari.

Newport Rally

I don't know what would be considered vintage, but there were a few Argosy's.I don't think a rally could get much better than this one. Here are a few pics of our favorite trailer,an unfinished Westcraft. The front shroud houses propane, batteries and a generator.check out the matching tow truck, a Reo water truck.

this was a really nice rally. the rally was limited to 100 trailers, and about another 25 or so trailers showed up and were spread about. some of the nicest restored trailers i've seen so far. a group caravaned in from new mexico (they are hosting the "steaming to chama, NM rally next month) had four very nice trailers (all sob's in near prerfect condition), a couple from gig harbor washington with a 1949 sob canned ham, a couple from globe, AZ. (current trailer trash queen). over my way we had 5 brand new AS's. 3 with the rally and 2 that just happened to be there. two of the five were the 2006 Safari Special Edition FB, front and rear panoramic window models. stunning airstreams. over all, a very nice rally. met many forum members. (i was the seven foot cowboy walking about aimlessly) see you in chama new mexico at the next vintage rally. kevbo

Thanks for the pics! I love seeing the old trailers, especially the ones that are set up for showing off, with all the little vintage accessories Way out of my league, but I enjoy looking at them! And there's something about seeing trailers in that bright California sun, just makes us wnat to get out and go camping!

Kevbo,

I can only take credit for sending everyone that way, it is not my site. But it is a great resource for car shows and pictures.
