Sounds great. Let us all know if you can make it!

Hey Jim,

Sorry you aren't closer. These Germans really know their beer, polka, and WURST!

Happy Friday everyone.

I just received a call from the campground saying we were up to 8 rigs so far. I was pleasantly surprised considering we posted this rally a month before the actual event. One of the campers is a coworker who I hope to convert to Airstreamism.

Looking forward to cooler weather next month!

Steve

Hey Debbie! It feels like forever since we met you and Craig at the Branson, MO rally. Oddly enough, RichHog who was staying down the hill is likely going to be at the rally as well since he just got his trailer back (Right Rich?!?!). He cannot resist the chance to get over to the Gristmill during his trip. Speaking of Branson, I sent Ann and Alvie a message inviting them to come out an join us like they did last time. I promised them they wouldn't be the only Airstream.

Anyone with reservations please let me know here or click the attending link on the rally thread so we know how much food to get for Friday.

Steve

We finally got all arranged and our reservations made. We will be coming down from Midland on Thursday and plan to stay thru Sunday. One question, will the Airstreams be grouped together or scattered all over the park? Thanks, Stan

I didn't even think about asking them to go. Mind has been focused on us making a trip somewhere...with Craig's crazy schedule...things were always changing. I PM'd her and gave her all the info.

Thanks for that. She responded around 12:30 AM, and with your info she will have everything she needs. I hope I can stay up that late during Wurstfest since with my job I am usually in bed by 9 PM nowadays!

This sounds like someplace I'd like to be. But, not this time around. Toooooo far away. Maybe next time.

I'm retired military and some years ago when my NJANG unit was preparing for a trip to Germany they had given us a DOD publication that was made for GI families rotating to Europe. It was titled " Wurst, Beer and Coo Coo Clocks". One of our team members looked at it and said " I thought they had good beer in Germany". Needless to say he a bit short in his deck. We had a great trip. I lived in Heidelberg for 2 years when I was active duty Army. Great memories. I'm sure this " Fest" would be a great reminder of great times. Hope you all have good weather and ENJOY

I spent a little time in Germany at Grafenwohr myself, a far cry from Heidelburg or anywhere else I am sure. Hey, at least it wasn't Hohenfels!

Got confirmation that another reservation was made by Ann and Alvie in their 40 foot motorhome. Good times are only a couple weeks away! Up to 10, and growing each week!

Never made it to Graf. My niece and her husband have been there awhile since he got home from Afgh. and she really likes it. Couldn't ask for a better duty than Heidelberg though. Great place and central to all Germany had to offer. Really enjoyed my time there. But after a year in RVN it was well deserved.

Hope your fest goes well,

I know what you mean...I'm use to being in bed early too. Starting to get shopping list together. Is there anything we need to bring?

Friday evening I am providing hot dogs. Feel free to bring a side item. As for Saturday evening there is nothing yet decided. One option is the Gristmill Restaurant, Cooper's BBQ, or another place. Another option is to have a potluck back at the park. A third option is to grub it up at Wurstfest. Normally we like having a potluck, but with a fun day at Wurstfest...who wants to cook? Besides, the area offers many great restaurants to enjoy!

I don't mind doing any of the options as I can always put a crock pot on in the morning, and serve it up once we get back.

Prize to be awarded for the best Lederhosen!

Just 2 weeks from today we will be enjoying our Airstreams in New Braunfels...here's looking forward to many times of yelling Prost!
