Silver in the City....York, SC

We are excited to be announcing and hosting the 3rd annual "Silver in the City" downtown rally in our hometown of York, SC, population 8500, April 23-26, 2020.

We will park along both sides on Congress Street (our main street) and also in 2 parking lots located on Congress Street.

We currently have 38 rigs signed up with plenty of room for more.

This is a boondocking rally so please arrive with empty holding tanks, full fresh water tank, and propane. Quiet generators are always welcome.

Thursday afternoon we rendezvous 2 blocks from Congress Street on the York Place campus, 234 Kings Mountain Street, York, with Pizza supper.

Friday morning 9:00 we parade into town with Police escort, down Congress Street to 105 Garner Street, where we will stage the parking.

We will help you park, and you will not need to unhitch unless you want to. Parking is fast and easy. The dump station will be on Garner Street.

Kickoff is 5:00 Friday at the City Market.

We will close the street on Saturday from 12:00-5:00 for the OPEN HOUSE so the locals can come by and peek inside.

There are minimal planned activities, we encourage everyone to parooze the streets and enjoy food, beverages, and shopping, all at your doorstep.

Our town is so excited we are retuning for the 3rd. time. Come join us as we celebrate small town America.

We request a note if you are coming. Send me a PM if you need more info.

You will like it.

John and Terry....Poncho and Lefty, at it again.

That sure sounds like fun! We'll look at the calendar to see if we can squeeze in a trip to SC. Thanks for posting details about the rally.

I'm glad you asked....

Al...gotcha on the list. Glad to have you and Missy back with us here in York.

Lucius, hope you and Danielle can join us as well.

Our little town is getting so excited, they can hardly wait. Terry and I will make our traditional downtown crawl this Friday afternoon, chatting with the merchants, and delivering the final plans.

It is dehydrating task, requiring frequent stops at the watering holes.

Yep...somebody's gotta do it!

We are up to around 40+ rigs, a more accurate count a bit later. We still have plenty of room, all right down town.

Everyone....there is no parking fee, and no rally fee. In lieu of a rally fee we hope you will be generous with a donation to P.A.T.H., our local charitable out reach organization. People Attempting To Help. They do a fabulous job reaching out into our community.

More later....

You will like it.

Update

Lefty and I did phase 1 of the main street canvas on Friday afternoon. Took a while, we got thirsty, so it took even longer.

Phase 2...next week.

The downtown merchants are absolutely ecstatic we are coming.

We are happy to report the number of attendees is now about 50 rigs!!

We have plenty more room, let us know if you might be interested in joining us.

Poncho....downtown.

Sorry John, but we will have to cancel. We are behind schedule with some downsizing activities at the Florida home.

Hope to see you and Susan again soon.

Thanks for the update, Al. Good luck with the downsizing project, never a pleasant task.

Well....no surprise, the virus has caused us to cancel Silver in the City.

Look for it to be back next year, about the same time, bigger and better than ever, like new growth after a wild fire.

Many thanks to everyone, stay safe out there.
