Silver In The City 2025

When we first got our trailer in 2020 we weren't really sure if we were really rally people... we didn't think it was our cup of proverbial tea. But we are open to trying anything once and we signed up for SITC, because the idea of an urban rally intrigued us. Five years later and we've been to every one since, meeting some great people and making some great friends along the way. And even if you can't make it to the actual rally, stop in and visit the charming city of York!

Thanks to John, Terry, the city of York, SC and all the people who work behind the scenes to make this rally a success every year- and it really was an amazing rally! We'll be back next year!

Thanks, Eric..

not only for coming but for the fabulous drone footage. Great stuff.

We had 55 rigs, our target number, here in our beloved City of York, SC, population 10,000. It was another great success for the City and of course for those of us planning and attending.

Terry and I spent yesterday afternoon debriefing and reflecting (another way of saying had a drink or 2 or 3) and confirmed that yes, it was indeed a fabulous weekend for everyone involved. The thanks go to all that came. Great rallies can only be possible by great people attending.

BTW....

Your story about whether or not you are "Rally People" is one we hear a lot. I, too, wondered the same thing at one-point years ago. We have found that if folks will give it a try..."They will like it!"

Thanks again for coming and documenting another wonderful Silver in the City.

John

Shame on you for “drinking”?
I usually have several different beverages in my rig:
Coconut “water”
Corn “water”
Highland malt “water”
Juniper “water”
Sugar cane “water”
Oh! And Potatoe “water”

I missed the SC rally, but will be in York PA this fall/summer, stop by, not sure where yet but I’ll be the 1997 Safari, pulled by the white Ram dually with the TRAIN horns…. Can’t miss me!

Like others have said, camping is camping, Rallies are a bit different, only by the fact that we have the same manufacturer (usually?) for our trailers!

Don’t get me wrong, I will say hello th everyone! Some with Airstreams, many with other manufacturers. We are ALL doing what we like and love!

See you somewhere!

Rally’s

As newbies in 2018 we learned an enormous amount about our new trailer by visiting with some experienced Airstream owners and took advantage of all the free seminars offered.

We’ve also made many life long friends at these Rallies and have many networking connections.

So, I would consider joining a club and doing some Rally’s. Soon, you’ll have newbie’s asking you for tips and how to questions about their trailers.

Was not aware there was another rally in the area. We have been to 3 Alumalina Rallys, and were sorry to see this year and next years canceled due to the floods. Looks like there's another one you folks have we should consider next year?

No matter how many years or miles someone has travelled, they too were newbies at one point and relied on the experience of others to lead the way.

You are so right to point out the value of rallies: they can speed up the learning process and often save a lot or wear and tear on both man and beast!

Jerry, they are referencing Silver in the City, held for the past 8 years here in my hometown of York, SC. It just wrapped up Sunday.

Our town is small and to facilitate parking on the street, we must limit it to 55 rigs. We left Sunday with 55 names already on the list for next year.

John,

If you’re starting a list, add Karin and Jim Dickson (BRN 1374) for next year.
