I don't remember if the street sign has the number or not, but it is the side road to the west off T hwy--there's a cemetery at the northwest corner of the intersection--Google shows it as co rd D229. The directions given in the first post were taken directly from the Rudolph Bennitt SWA brochure, so I suppose they may or may not have updated things. Google "Rudolph Bennitt State Wildlife Area, Clark Co. MO" and you'll see all the roads within the park.

I think we may try to make it this year. Our trailer has a big water leak so I am trying to decide if our 345 will make the trip. I think it will as long as no rain but will have to wait until the date is upon us to know for sure.

Mid-Missouri Fall Boondock 2017

I was Google Earthing and saw Road D229 on the map. There is a church on the southwest corner, Fairview. Thanks!

You bet. I've started coming into T Hwy from B Hwy from the north. May be longer depending on which way you're coming in, but B Hwy is much nicer to travel than F Hwy to the south--especially pulling a trailer.

We will be coming from the north, so heading south on 63. B to T looks like the better option. Thanks again!

If north of Moberly Mo. on 63 look on map for 24 west to rte 3 then rite on T as I think lots better than going thru Moberly Plus maybe little shorter. I will talk to bro. in law that lives in Moberly tonite then post if he no's any thing of this rte. I'm also looking this rte. instead of B to T.

63 through Moberly is a major thoroughfare with exits (I think there're stoplights at the 24 interchange by the Wal-Mart). If you do make it around to come in on B from the west, there's an interesting cooperage/winery in Higby. Lots of ways to get there from where you are, thank you Google Maps! :-)

We have plans for Sunday already and can't get away during the week. But we are planning on bringing the Kayaks out to fish on Saturday and visit with everyone. We'll bring food to add to the potluck for Saturday night.

We are relative newbies having owned our Airstream for a little more than a year and have been looking for a rally to attend and this one is practically in our backyard. We live just 50 miles south of there in Hartsburg, MO. We'll get there the afternoon of Oct 6 and leave mid-day Oct 8. We'll bring a great dessert for the potluck Saturday. --Fran & Frank Thompson

Sounds like a plan! Look forward to meeting you. Looks like we could have 14 or 15 trailers this year if it all works out! Fingers crossed for some pleasant weather!

10 day weather for area as of 8:43 10/1/2017. Wed. thunder storms, Thur. rain, Fri. showers, Sat. scattered thunder storms, Sun. mostly sunny. I obtained forecast for Moberly Mo. that is about 15 miles No. also Columbia Mo. same forecast. At this time don't no if take chance as over 400 mile drive. Will watch weather, but being in rain for 3 or 4 days not any fun. No shelters to get together shown in Rudolf Bennitt conservation area pamphlet unless Brian has more info so it's iffy. We too have been looking at the next 7-10 forecast, and wondering just how accurate the weather guessers are. I've only heard that it will rain, no anticipated amounts yet...

My big concern is the dirt/gravel road going down to the water front. Brian, or anyone else familiar with RB, will the dirt/gravel still be passable?

If we can't get to the water front, are there other campsites available? I thought I had seen some spread out throughout the Preserve. (I don't have the brochure with me, but will look later)...

According to brochure there are 5 dif. w/numbered camping sites spread thru out area but Brian has a lot more knowledge of area than brochure shows as it's a glossary of area.

Like anywhere else, don't like the weather in Missouri, just wait 15 minutes... We've been over 30 days without rain at the house, so it figures we're due. Timing!!!The roads are solid, the only time we had any issue at all with mud was when it rained in the middle of the road grader's annual maintenance and that coincided with everyone coming in. Purely cosmetic. We'll want to stay on the gravel to set up the trailers, just to be safe. No, there are no permanent picnic shelters, etc. but we'll have at least one pop up tent for tables/pot luck. The one year we had a lot of rain, we did inside trailer things (read, play cards, nudge-nudge) or ran into Moberly and explored a little, then stoked the fire when the rain quit. Hopefully it won't be a total washout... Not panicking until we get closer anyway.
