We cancelled our reservation this morning, space 31. David pulled a muscle this morning in his leg getting in the truck and is having great difficulty in walking. He is not a happy camper...and neither am I. So sorry to miss Canopener. Please remove our names for the early breakfast.

Pet troubles, have to cancel #50
Regrets,
We were so excited for our first Canopener and a great start to the new year, however we are in the midst of a pet emergency and will have to try for next year.
Site 50 opens today. Wed-next Tues.

Cancel
Susan (Sunnygirl) and I regret we are cancelling our plans to attend our 7th Canopener rally. We wish everyone there a great time and hope to be with you next year. Site 134 is now available for Thursday through Sunday night. In addition, site #A10 at Fort Pickens is now available for Monday-Wednesday following Canopener.
I hope someone will step in and make a video of this year's event.

I come bearing a guitar, fiddle, harmonica, ukulele, and an old scratchy voice to add to the mix; and I love to try to play Americana music to include a renewed interest in Crosby, Stills, & Nash. We had a blast last year and I'm hoping we'll have even more fun this year! Let me know soon, please - I hope to get some time in the clubhouse to practice/jam in some warmer surroundings than the amphitheater.
Cheers and Happy New Year!

I’m bringing a baritone uke, I play by ear and half remember stuff from Bob Dylan to Mamas and Papas to the Eagles, etc. I don’t read music but can usually jump in and back up the lead player. If I don’t know the number being played I stand back and smile, look like I know what I’m doing and wait for the next one I know. Used to have a pretty good singing range, thyroid surgery years ago changed all that to hit and miss.
Would love to sit in if you have a seat!

Made it! Site #20. And yes, both my Interstate and my toad have enough room, despite the site being a nominal 20' site and my Interstate being 23' long. But if my toad was any bigger than a subcompact, they wouldn't both fit the space.
Looking forward to some above-freezing temperatures; it will be a welcome change from temps in the high teens like I had at Vidalia over the weekend.
Good news for the jambalaya fans; the potluck at Vidalia was canceled, so I have enough ingredients that I can make twice as much jamabalaya here at Canopener.

Gary - great to have you in town! We absolutely have room for you. I’m hoping to try to get a warm place to jam for tomorrow. Thanks for coming.

Looks like it might be a record Year for cancellations. The reservation page is now showing 5 sites available.

Heading out tomorrow for our first Canopener (site 78). Looking forward to meeting many of you! Hope the cold won't impact things too much.
BTW - I'm coming in with empty FW tank. Assume with the temps being above freezing at Hilltop that water will be available at the sites. Is that correct?

Mustgo nite Site 157
Bring what you have in your refrigerator for”mustgo” the clean it out. We have 1-1/2 pork buts, chicken leg quarters to contribute. Meal will start at 4 pm.
Contributions for the $150 cord of wood are gladly accepted as well as the $45 for the pork buts. Hope to see all there.
The fire tubs seem to be warmly accepted by those visiting them.
