Another post on the 2018 Canopener “guidelines”

Canopener 2018 Schedule
So here goes with the LAST PRINT of the Officially unofficial rally schedule of the CanOpener 2018
(A completely legal and official disclaimer: always remember, the Canopener rally schedule is like the pirate code........ it's more of a "guideline", arrggghh and completely weather dependent)

Thursday, January 4th
WHAT: Music and Pinball Tournament….WHAT, Pinball? 4 VINTAGE pinball machines will be set up in the clubhouse ( isn’t it sad when something from the 70’s is considered “vintage”
WHEN: 6:00p.m. WHERE: The Clubhouse
Details and what you need to know = B.Y.O.B. Bring Your Own Beverages of choice and come play, dance and listen to the sounds of our very own Not Ready For Primetime ALUMINOTES

Friday, January 5th
WHAT: The Great Chili Feed & Margaritaville
WHEN: 12:00p.m. (Noon!) WHERE: The Clubhouse
Details and what you need to know = B.Y.O.C. Bring Your Own Chair as we’ll be eating outside.

WHAT: The Rowdy Raucous 6th Annual Cornhole Tournament
WHEN: 1:00p.m.ish WHERE: The Clubhouse Parking Lot
Details and what you need to know = $1 entry fee, single elimination, winner take all! Be sure to stick around after the Chili Feed to participate or watch the always fun Cornhole Tournament. And of course, feel free to cheer or heckle your favorite players! (we'll also be looking for volunteer judges/scorers for each pair of players.
Please note there will be no space for vehicle parking as we’ll be eating and playing on the parking lot!

Saturday, January 6th
WHAT: Breakfast With The Ranger
WHEN: 8:30a.m. & 9:15ish a.m. WHERE: The Clubhouse
Details and what you need to know = There’ll be 2 seatings with a maximum of 40 per seating. An RSVP on the forums is required. There is no fee BUT your GENEROUS donation will be greatly appreciated and somewhat expected!

WHAT: A Walk With The Ranger
WHEN: Saturday – 10:00a.m. WHERE: TRAM STATION 2
Details and what you need to know = Learn from the experts about the wildlife, flora and fauna in this most unusual state park. It's an easy walk for any and all folks. Bring your own means of hydration!

WHAT: Bloody Saturday
WHEN: 11:30a.m.ish WHERE: Site 112
Details and what you need to know = B.Y.O.C. Bring Your Own Cup

WHAT: The All Aluminum All The Time Open House
WHEN: 2:00p.m. -4:00p.m. WHERE: Wherever you see aluminum, an open door and a friendly face! *If you have artisan wares, jewelry, food items, etc... to sell, this would be the time to set out your display ON YOUR OWN CAMPSITE ONLY.

Sunday, January 7th
WHAT: The Farewell Coffee Clique Pajama Party
WHEN: 8:30ish a.m. WHERE: Site 167, Cindy & Alan (skyballfarm)
Details and what you need to know = B.Y.O.C.C. Bring Your Own Cup (again!) and Chair if you want one, and wear your most fabulous P.J’s, especially your long johns

Additional Information And Suggestions, mostly suggestions:
Hints for a happy camper time at CanOpener:
1) Get out of your trailer, walk around and meet your fellow CanOpenians! Don't let a little cold weather keep you pent up
2) Participate in as many or as little of the activities you want!
3) If you see a lit fire ring, walk up, introduce yourself and join the party!
**4) Remember this is a very large gathering so be flexible and know that all activities are always Weather Dependent.
5) Smile and be thankful you own an Airstream and are a part of the most awesome traveling community on the planet!

So I volunteered my cornhole board for today's tournament but had to leave briefly. If it is still needed you are welcome to use it. It is in sight 74 very close to clubhouse on the lake. You'll see it.

Frank and Michael are signed up for the later breakfast with the ranger but we won’t make it. So if anyone wanted on the list you can have our seats. I guess the first to reply here has our seats.

My truck is having glow plug problems revealed by this unusually cold weather in the Deep South and will not get out of the shop in time for the canopener this year. With regret, the Whites will miss this years rally. That opens up 5 spots for the 8:30 breakfast tomorrow.

Anyone that wants to go to the Breakfast With The Ranger tomorrow morning, please feel free to go to either of the settings. And remember, give generously back to this lovely park!

Thanks to all of the organizers for Canopener 2018! We had a great and relaxing time despite the weather! We needed to get away to regroup for 2018. We will reserve a spot for 2019 as soon as the reservation window opens up. Everyone have a safe trip home, hope to see everyone next year if not before.
Love to all

Thanks to all for a terrific outing. We are bugging out to get home in time to park and decommission as Ice and Snow are forecast to arrive at home just a few hours after our predicted arrival. There is nothing quite like sneaking out for a week as the winter weather bracketed our trip.

Safe travels to all!

Thank You Foley RV

This was my first year at the CanOpener. Fun time for all. Met wonderful people and some folks that helped me when I had issues. Thank you all.

To the Foley RV organization and the leadership staff joining the CanOpener. Your team members did a great job and much appreciated the prizes provided as well as the welcome gift. Thank you.

We made it home safe and tired. Weather was much better coming home. Just a little windy at times.

I've already picked out the site I want for next year, and just have to wait until the reservation window opens (exactly 11 months prior to my planned arrival date).
