Setting here at the Pizza Hut on SR98 in Destin and saw 4 Airstreams heading towards Topsail. We should be there about 1:P.M. tomorrow. It will be a short drive for us. Safe travels everyone!

Coastal Dune Lakes at Topsail Hill Preserve
While attending Canopener, enjoy the hiking trails to the beach and around the park. Coastal dune lakes are a natural feature at the park you can view from the marked hiking trails. These lakes are found only in Walton County Florida, Australia, New Zealand, Madagascar and Oregon. Here are some photos of one of the Topsail Hill Preserve State Park dune lakes taken yesterday.

Art in the Park!
Hello fellow Canopenians,
We have some FABULOUS artisans amongst us
At SITE 155, Airdreamers (Janice) has beautiful pottery for sale - trust me, you WANT to see her work and you will definitely want a piece of her "Airstream" pottery! Hurry before it's all gone
At Site 121, check out Melinda's GORGEOUS jewelry designs, its wearable art
Melinda has bracelets, earrings, necklaces and custom made lanyards so you can be stylin' when you wear your name tags for the rally
Enjoy and see you out and about

First-timer
We are uninitiated first-timers. We arrived at dusk last evening and are set up in site 28. How do we check in for the rally, get the package (if there is one), get an agenda, and, assuming there is one, pay our rally fee? I know I could probably just walk around and start asking questions, but I can't be the only one here wondering about this.

Chili Feast and Cornhole Tourney beginning at noon at Clubhouse. Packets, etc will be there, unless someone says otherwise! No rally fee but donation jars at most events- all money collected goes to Friends of Topsail organization.

Our favorite hints for a happy camper time at the Canopener:
1) Get out of your trailer, walk around and meet your fellow Canopenians!
2) Participate in as many or as little of the activities you like!
3) When you see a lit fire ring - walk up, introduce yourself and join the party!
4) Be flexible and know that all activities are totally weather dependent!
5) Smile and be thankful you own an Airstream and are a part of the most awesome traveling community on the planet!

The most recent online schedule, from 12 pages back or so......
Not everything copied and quoted, like breakfast with a ranger, Sunday morning pajama coffee party, etc. When in doubt, ask at any Airstream in your area.....

I biked down to No Name Lake for sunrise Wednesday. As I walked onto the beach area, I noticed an otter on land with his back to me, and it didn't notice me for a few seconds. I was between it and the pond, so when it did see me, it crashed through the palmetto to circle around and dove into the pond.

Can't figure out how to get our names on the 9:30 breakfast. It appears there are 2 spaces left. Can you put Laurie and Pat Jones down for spot 54 and 55? Thank you. I need a lesson in doing this.
