Breakfast with the Ranger
Every year the "Friends of Topsail", a group of volunteers who help out at the park, sponsor a Breakfast with the Ranger which is really popular with our group of Canopenians. In the past, we had to limit attendance to around 80 of us. This year the park is offering us 2 seatings of 54. The first starts at 8:45am and the second starts at 9:30am Saturday morning before the hike. Not only can more of us get a great Pancake breakfast, but the lines and seating will be a lot better!
This is a great way to meet new folks and hear a little more about the park from the ranger. The breakfast is free but donations are always gladly accepted.

2017 CANOPENER CHILI FIESTA- Begging for more food, puleeeeeze!
OK, I just pulled up our final chili potluck list for Canopener 2016. I'm not sure how many folks we have this year versus last year, but I think it is more. Last year we had 25 pots of chili. This year we have 14 volunteered so far. A huge thanks to all who have volunteered items so far! So all you chili aficionados, show us your stuff and consider adding a pot to the fire. Breakfast with the Ranger sign-up
Every year the "Friends of Topsail", a group of volunteers who help out at the park, sponsor a Breakfast with the Ranger which is really popular with our group of Canopenians. In the past, we had to limit attendance to around 80 of us. This year the park is offering us 2 seatings of 54. The first starts at 8:45am and the second starts at 9:30am Saturday morning before the hike. Not only can more of us get a great Pancake breakfast, but the lines and seating will be a lot better!
This is a great way to meet new folks and hear a little more about the park from the ranger. The breakfast is free but donations are always gladly accepted.

Bunco game in Clubhouse.
For those who do not participate in Cornhole on Friday, I would like to invite you to come play Bunco during the Cornhole time in the clubhouse. Bunco is a simple game of dice played as partners with four at a table. I will have all of the playing materials: dice and score cards. Bring $2 to play and the money will be divided among five categories of winners. I will post a sign to remind everyone and we can join up in the clubhouse after Chili is served. 2017 CANOPENER CHILI FIESTA- Begging for more food, puleeeeeze!
OK, I just pulled up our final chili potluck list for Canopener 2016. I'm not sure how many folks we have this year versus last year, but I think it is more. Last year we had 25 pots of chili. This year we have 14 volunteered so far. A huge thanks to all who have volunteered items so far! So all you chili aficionados, show us your stuff and consider adding a pot to the fire. I think I remember sampling a little something, something you brought last year that was awesome. Looking forward to seeing/meeting all. Can't believe we are this close. We made these reservations the day they opened up. We weren't gong to miss this as we had so MUCH fun last year. What a great group of folks.
