If, by chance, all sites are taken, check back monthly until Oct or so, and weekly or more often in November, daily in December, as people change plans, and cancel reservations. The week before Opener often sees people cancelling due to weather they have to travel through, work commitments, etc. some people snag these sites in the days before the event.

I just look and 17 RV sites were still open for the weekend of the rally.

It's possible that if someone wants to arrive a day or two early and checks availability for their desired arrival date, it would show up as "no vacancy" because just their planned first day is already booked by someone leaving the next morning. Checking again for arrival just one day later can make a big difference.

Checking from January 3 thru January 11 there are 16 sites open. Sites are available during the rally as of a few minutes ago.
I suspect it will fill up though.

The big silly season will occur the couple of weeks befor the rally. People will start cancelling in droves. Happens every year.

Which is why we stress to everyone who looks for a site, to keep checking back as the event draws near. Also, consider nearby Grayton Beach SP and commute to Canopener or nearby private parks. Also, consider booking the later available Canopener dates, but book nearby for earlier arrivals, and make the move. Again, as the date draws near, others cancel due to work, family issues, weather in farther away states, etc.

We are in sites 005 & 006, from January 5 for 4 nights, checking out Monday January 9. There will be 4 total (2 on each site) I am on site 005, and my brother & his wife are in site 006. My brother is a SOB, but I told him he would be welcome!

Canopener 2017 Sites Available & RSVP's
Howdy folks,
I just checked at Reserve America and there are 5 CAMPING SITES AVAILABLE for CanOpener 2017, specifically sites 19,20,21,51 and 52. If you've been waiting for a sign to decide if you're going to CanOpener 2017, THIS IS IT
On a related note..............if you do have a reserved site for CanOpener 2017 and have yet to RSVP, please go ahead and do it now and avoid the rush According to the RSVP page and the 5 sites remaining there is either a lot of folks who haven't signed in OR that means there is going to be a lot (56 sites) of SOB's invading our CanOpener : .....oh no, say it isn't so.......
I'm hoping it's the former and not the latter. So please put my mind to rest and RSVP sooner rather than later and don't forget to add your first names to your RSVP so our fabulous name badge & welcoming team has your info.
Thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to seeing y'all down the road,
Annette.......getting in as many RSVP's on this post as she can.......
