It's really great knowing $1000 was raised for the friends of Topsail . I hope we can do even better next year!

In case you didn't know, the local NBC news team revisited Topsail Hill yesterday for a wrap up segment where Annette presented to Dr. David Brooks, Head of the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, with over $1,000 in donations collected during the rally. The segment was broadcast last night and this morning on the NBC channel. Thanks to everyone for their generosity! I've included a link below to this segment.

Airstreamers wrap up 10th Canopener with donation to Friends of Topsail Hill State Park

And a special thanks to Annette and Joe and the many team members for putting on a great rally! Can't wait until next year!

Again....
Judy and I would like to thank Annette and Joe all others who made the 2016 Canopener a great success. We had a blast, met some wonderful people, many we will sirely be seeing again. We are back on track in Travelers Rest, seeing as much of Florida as we can for this year. Cool here tonight but a LOt warmer than back home in Ottawa.
Thanks again and we will see you all again in 2017

Just finished an uneventful 9 hour drive home. Tomorrow night I have to winterize and put the bus to bed for a couple of months. Yuck! Pat and I had a great time, just as we do every year. Many thanks to those that planned, helped, attended or otherwise contributed to this event. And a special thanks to Foley Airstream for their support, gifts and attendance. See you all next year.

We are AS full-timers and have never been to a rally. I know it is early but are the dates out for 2017? Our Airstream family has saved us so many times and would love to have this experience.

It was nice to meet you Bonnie! You went all out with the Airstream and flamingo cookies and the whiskey bread pudding. Everyone loved them! Hope to see you next year with 2 Airstreams (I'm hoping that Beverly got the bug and will return next year with hers)

Another great Airstream rally at Topsail. Thanks to all the movers and shakers that make such an event possible.

We sure hope you can make it in 2017. The Canopener was our first rally ever also. We made so many friends then in 2010 and continue to make more every year we attend. Awesome bunch of "Newbies" this year! We'll put you to work soon!

The 2017 Canopener thread will be up soon but the dates will be January 6, 7, and 8. Put it on your calendar and watch this thread until the 2017 Canopener thread gets open.

Our thanks to you

Joe and I have officially unwound and arrived home today. During our drive we had the opportunity to look back on CanOpener 2016 and WOW what a blast
It was a pleasure and a privilege to help put the rally together this year and..........yes, we look forward to doing it all again for 2017
But before we move on to CanOpener 2017 we both want to say a HUGE thank you to many who helped make this 2016 rally so fabulous:

thank you Karen(karenjude) & Brad(nilesrob) for being the "bag people" and putting together all the name tags and gift bags - along with all the stuffers who helped on the Wednesday before the rally.
thank you Panama Red (Kevin, and especially Shelley for putting up with him) for doing and re-doing and re-doing and re..... the maps, and to Russ(luckyducks) for making all the copies.
thank you Vernon & Sarah (hihoagrv) for being willing(?) participants in a way too early live TV interview and sharing your amazing vintage Airstream for all to see.
thank you Greg & Pat (roadtoaster) and all your helpers for another spectacular Margaritaville - it wouldn't be CanOpener with out this event!
thank you Jose (rumrunner) and all your "official" corn hole judges for putting together a great tournament - the most players ever this year And a big woohoo to all who brought the boards and bags!
thank you Mark (labigdogs) for the spectacular photos and way-super-cool drone video, a first for the CanOpener!
thank you to all (you know who you are) who helped before, during and after the big Chili Feed - y'all are awesome and so appreciated!
thank you to Keith (khollister) for being chief juicer, blender and bartender for Bloody Saturday.
thank you Ron & family (pizzachop) for some seriously delicious pizzas Saturday night.
thank you JT (stratman) for ALL the music and too much fun entertainment - there were some pretty amazing dance moves and singing Saturday night
thank you Jeff (rivetng) for the always fun (and potentially dangerous) party cart and Sunday morning mimosas.
thank you Tom & Vicki (tvketchum) for being the hosts with the most for our Pajama Party Coffee Bar. I'd say that was a winner winner chicken dinner event and a must have for 2017!
thank you Chuck (florida55) for producing videos, logos and all other media items and providing priceless memories.
thank you to all the past rally planners; Steve(devoman), Ron (chief), Russ (luckyducks) and Tom (alumitater) - y'all have made CanOpener what it is today and all of us thank you
and a BIG, HUGE HEARTFELT THANK YOU to Rick & JJ Foley and Ron & Renee Lester from our dear friends at FOLEY RV
See you in 2017 - Joe & Annette

We went to Foley, AL for a few days following the Canopener. Just now had time to go through all the pages of responses from the various attendees. We also had a great time and so nice to meet so many new Airstream friends and visit with old ones. Our thanks to Joe and Annette as well as all of the helpers. Annette's post 959 sums it up better than I can express. The drone video and TV news video of the donation to Dave Brooks were fun to see. I will be looking forward to Chuck's magic with a Canopener 2016 video. We are so fortunate to have the support of Foley RV. We will be back in 2017.
