I was wondering that too since there's so many signed up. So I called Palmetto Cove last week and asked. The lady there told me that it would be first come, first served. Needs to be verified with John I guess since he's spearheading the event.

This will be my first rally.

I wish there were full hook sites for everyone but as you noted we actually have 135. Approximately 6 of the 148 sites will be occupied by the camp hosts.

The Palmetto Cove will handle the parking...they have a plan and it works quite well. So I leave it to them. They prefer to park everyone on a first come/first served basis which to some may not seem fair but at this point it is probably the only way to handle it without a calamity. I stand by my promise of a great time for everyone.

We have some input and we are working on a few details for parking.

We spent Labor Day weekend at the Cove working on the parking plan and remain confident that those in overflow will be quite comfortable. The entire are is very flat with beautiful thick, mowed grass and we will provide water to each rig. And there is also a dump station. Susan and I, along with Terry and Annie, will be in the overflow section.

While looking through some old photo albums of the early days at the Cove, one picture showed 200 Airstreams there at a rally. So we know it can be done.

At this point I can say that overflow parking will be better than staying home and missing what promises to be a great time. But if you feel it will not work for you please let us know so we can adjust our planning. There is always next year and we are already working on a new and exciting plan. Too early to let the cat out of the bag.

We are also working on a plan to park all the Interstates and B Vans together with hook ups. Not totally set just yet, but working on it.

Is that part planned for this time or next time?

Because if it's for this time, you can put me back on the list (Protagonist, formerly and hopefully again #218 on the list, with 1 Interstate, 1 Honda toad, and 1 indoor cat). The reason I dropped out before was that I didn't want to boondock in my Interstate and couldn't guarantee my arrival soon enough to get a first-come/first-served hookup site.

But if your plan to have all of the Interstates and B-vans together with hookups is for next time instead, I'll wait for next time.

If I attend, I'm game. I have a costume that I put together for this year's Louisiana Renaissance Festival, which starts the weekend after the Alumalina Rally. A costume party would be just the thing to break in the costume!

The trick was knowing who was a full time costume vs Halloween only!🤡

Not going to question this decision, but why special treatment for the lil' guys? If it's cause you can squeeze them in, maybe toss the Basecamps in also.

Probably because the typical Interstate has less than 24 hours boondocking endurance without running the generator, unless thousands of dollars of solar and battery upgrades have been performed— which on my Interstate they haven't. If we don't plug in, we'll need to run generators to recharge the batteries every single day, and our on-board Onan generators aren't the quietest.

I agree with DanB and i suspect most of the rest of the folks on the list do as well. The idea of a "special" list/area with full hookups is a bad idea. Many of us with regular AS trailers will also be running our generators often. Join the crowd.

Not trying to slight anyone or favor anyone, just trying to cram 10 pounds of stuff in a 5 pound bag. Or in other words, trying to put 200 plus rigs in a 135 site camp, maximize the spaces, keep everyone as happy as possible, and follow the guidelines for parking set by the Cove.

My good friend John E. Walker is helping me get through this.

We have a row of full hook up sites that are short, will not easily accommodate a trailer with TV, and are difficult to back into once the row in front of it has been parked. It would be perfect for the Interstates and would then free up the longer sites for the longer rigs.

I guess you just have to trust me on this one.

None of this has yet to be blessed by the Cove so much too early to get riled up about it. They have their plan may turn it down.

BTY...the overflow rate is $15/ night.
