Everything happens for a reason.
As many of you know, we were unable to attend Alumalina this fall, as I couldn't get away from work (too busy), and Marie has used up all her vacation time for the year already. We were disappointed we couldn't at least come down for a night or two.
But--
Everything happens for a reason.
This morning, I had to call the ambulance to transport Marie to the hospital, where we discovered she had suffered a stroke. Her left leg is currently paralyzed, and she also has some issues with her left arm, as well as some facial muscles.
She is resting comfortably in her room at the hospital, and at best, she is looking at several days in the hospital, most likely followed by days, if not weeks, of rehab, before she can come home.
If we had been at the rally, things might have turned out very differently. So, while we were disappointed we couldn't attend, we were close enough to help that she has a good chance of recovery, though she is probably permanently out of her line of work now. Please keep her in your thoughts, she can use the positive energy.

Home Safe
We are home safe and sound. What a wonderful weekend. Thanks to all who helped make it happen. We are always amazed at the wonderful new folks we meet. Can't wait till the next time we can get together. Keep your cast iron warm and dry and your bourbon cold.

Our Prayers will be with you both during this time of struggle. We certainly missed you at the Rally but as you say it is fortunate that you were home and close to fast treatment. May you find strength in knowing we are praying for you.

Sunset on the Fall 2014 Alumalina
Sandlapper,
Thank you and Terry for all of the long hours getting the Fall event putting together a great rally weekend beside Lake Wateree State Park. What a great time was had by all attending. We look forward to the spring of 2015 and another gathering of the Alumalina clan.
Anne and I were so glad we had as many new attendees to the Alumalina gathering, please come back and relax with our group. We hope everyone will have a safe trip home.
After returning home this afternoon we went on line and reserved site 55 for the March gathering. It appeared that a lot of the sites were already booked. I hope we can have more than 58 Airstreams attending the spring rally to make Lake Wateree State Park shine like an Airstream parking lot in SC.
Terry (Overlander 1963) we will be praying for a speedy and complete recovery from the stroke she has suffered over the weekend. Terry you were missed by all, but look forward to having you and your bride with us in March. Remember, God is always with you, sometimes beside you , sometimes leading you and sometimes carrying you over tough territory, but always with you.
Well its time to get back to work since the sun has set it is time for the Big Hooter to fly out and check the neighborhood and check on the size of the next generation of possums in the forest.
We will see you down the road.
Remember we give a HOOT.

Alumalina 2014 Fall Photos
It was another terrific rally in the Carolinas. Thanks to John, Susan, Terry, Annie and everyone who helped with the execution as well as everyone who attended. Great food, terrific music, and wonderful fellowship. Here are a few photos:

You need to move quickly
I received the word this morning that only 36 sites remain for the March dates.
Suggest you make a reservation, then figure out later if you can make it.
I have some things to share on the great time we had, just need a day or two to recover.
John

Great photos! Terry, so very sorry to hear about Marie. Please give me a call if there's anything I can do. I know the ODM folks will be there for you as well. It's a great big family and families take care of each other! Barry

Home
Got home just before 7pm Sunday evening.
Terry, thoughts and prayers for you and Marie. Glad you were able to get immediate care at your locale.
Thanks John and all the supporting cast for a great Alumalina Rally. Cheryl had a great time-probably her best rally because of the great folks interacting with her (she loves to be social).
Thanks to Stan and Rebecca for the great entertainment. Sue and I are looking forward to more music at Falluminum in October.
Just booked site 42 again (as 51, the best site for Cheryl, was already unavailable) for Fri 3/27 through Sunday 3/29. We are not sure of our schedule yet, as her uncle's 90th birthday is Sunday 3/29, and we want to be there. We may come in Thurs and leave Sat afternoon (as long as we can park somewhere off the campsite).
Thanks to those uploading pictures, too. It's great to see stuff we missed, or different views.
Phil

One of the nicest groups of people who ever gathered together.
Lily and I are booked into site #14 for March 2015.
Did stop by John's shop this am. His pieces are even more beautiful in person.
We will be a week or so getting home, stopping at the Missouri Boondock rally this coming weekend, so will give a final shout once our feet and paws have returned to terra firma in central Illinois.
Hugs to all,
Maggie
