VACmidwest Autumn rally will be September 15-18, 2016
Backbone State Park - Dundee, Iowa

"Nature reserve with climbing, hiking, biking, fishing, snowmobiling, camping & cabin & boat rentals." (Sure hope we don't have snowmobile weather!)
We will be camping in the modern South Lake campground with electric and some full hookup sites to accommodate those with small vintage tanks. Sites 1-23 if possible. The campsites can be reserved, 90 days in advance JUNE 15th. Cable rentals and tent sites are also available. The area offers fishing (with Iowa license and trout requires the additional trout stamp). Trout fishing in Iowa! Let Scott know if you'd like to join him. Also hiking, mountain bike trails, rock climbing, and canoeing on Maquoketa River are possibilities. There is a lot of CCC era infrastructure in the park.
Cedar Rock, one of the most complete designs by Frank Lloyd Wright, a Usonian house is nearby, and Eileen could arrange a group tour Saturday morning. It is our rally theme - "Built Like a Rock Rally"!
*Bring your own chair, place settings, cups, utensils - for meals and for happy hours.
Welcome campfire with popcorn Thursday night.
Day on your own to explore, relax, hike, bike, fish, canoe Friday.
Happy Hour with shared munchies about 4-6 Friday night, campfire following.
Drive/Carpool to Frank Lloyd Wright's Cedar Rock on Saturday morning.
Happy Hour with shared munchies about 4-6 Saturday night, campfire following.
"Rock the Crock" Potluck Saturday night, 6pm, bring a one-pot dish to share (not necessarily crockpot), main dishes, sides, or dessert.
Blueberry pancakes Sat morning, BYOC, BYOOJ (bring your own coffee and orange juice).
Open House in the VAC tradition 2-4 Saturday, bring your restoration photos.
VACmidwest Famous Biscuits and Gravy Sunday morning BYOC, BYOOJ (bring your own coffee and orange juice). A breakfast vintage presentation is being planned. Details to follow.

September 2016 rally - - -
We have a 10x10 shade pop up shelter and a 12x12 bug screen tent but no rain protection, neither with wind protection. We will bring both of those.
Would be good to have at least one of the 10x20 tents for rain Protection over food serving. Maybe anyone with a shelter to bring it along if they have space?
There is plenty of space between and among the sites for shelters, an some large trees in a centralish area among the sites.
