I always knew there was a large contingent of Airstreams that attended Balloon Fiesta, but didn't know how organized it was until seeing this thread today.

We live in Albuquerque. My wife and I are both native New Mexicans. We have worked, crewed, flown and video'd the event for many years, but this is our first year with a new Airstream which we hope to take possession of in late February.

Reading the entire thread, it sure sounds like a lot of fun and camaraderie with other Airstream owners. I'm not sure we're ready to boondock it for five days when we live just 15 minutes from the park, but would love to hook up with the group and offer any help, restaurant tips, sightseeing advice, tools, you name it.

As future new owners of an Airstream, I'm sure this group can share much of their Airstream knowledge with us in return.

If there is a way to be kept in the loop even though we're not trailering, it would be great.

I too am a native New Mexican, and I've lived in Albuquerque since the late 80s. My husband's family relocated here in the 70s. Like you, we've seen the Balloon Fiesta time and again. Those of us in Albuquerque SEE it every year, whether we go to the event or spot the balloons from across town.

The Balloon Fiesta Rally is absolutely a very special treat. No matter how close you live to the park, there isn't a more convenient way to attend the event, and the company of so many of your fellow Airstreamers cannot be beat. We even camped at Enchanted Trails for a couple of nights before the rally. It was great!

I'd never experienced the Balloon Fiesta quite like this before, and now I cannot imagine attending it in any other way. We weren't the only locals at the rally, so there must be others who feel as we do. Even if you don't sign up for the rally this year, do give it a try at some point in the future. You'll love it.

I can't seem to find a Balloon Fiesta 2016 thread so I thought I'd comment on last year's thread.

We are so excited about going back to Albuquerque again! I'm sending in the second half of our rally fee today.

Charles & I are looking forward to seeing old and meeting new friends. We always enjoy ourselves at the party you, Suzanne and all the volunteers throws to kick everything off. Theirs always much to do, this is 5 consecutive trips for us and we never seem to have enough time

I can't find any thread for the 2016 Balloon Fiesta either. I sent a couple of emails but have not gotten a reply. I am interested in signing up or getting on the wait list for the 2016 event. Whats the status and process for doing either?

hmmm...thats where I sent the email. What is the status? if there's a waiting list, how many are on it?
We figured we were SOL on the Fiesta this year so have been making other plans to visit some of the National Parks in Southern California, but still would like to know if it's a possibility.
