Whatís The Best Rock Guard Protection?

I have a 2019 Ford dually truck to tow an AS 27 ft International, I am considering a protection to the rock guard since I have noticed that they now have small dings to it from our recent travels from the West and around the state. I looked into Rock Tamers but the reviews are not all good. Iím wondering if our fellow Airstreamers have used other brands with satisfactory results.

Thanks for the suggestions

Marvin

Making sure I understand. You have rock guards installed to protect your Airstream, now you are looking for something to protect the rock guards?

Just think of the little dings in your rock guard as badges of honor.

17 Seasons with the TowTectors SFSG.
I like the full width protection.

I have no flaps because I rarely drive on gravel roads.
However I noticed my "rock guards" had a few dings only on the street side, none on the curb side.
I concluded that those came from traffic throwing debris my way, and so rock tamers won't stop that.

I have a 2020 33 Classic and have been using the Rock Tamer brand. Iím towing with a 2019 F-350 Dually and have found they do an excellent job. I also installed the Ford mud flaps for the Dually. I havenít had a ding and I have towed across the country from Florida to Oregon.

Rock On!!!

I've travelled over 25,000 miles with our 2019 Classic 30 and althought there are dimples on the rock guards, the stainless steel is a whole lot stronger then the aluminum.

I just can't see dragging that "rock Tamer" around losing a mile or two in gas milage.

This is the worst side. I have very few dings on the driver's side.

Now if you are going to Alaska, I would invest in the rock tamers and then sell them when you arrive home.

I use the duraflap mud flaps. I did not have to drill to install them and my trailer is totally protected. And they look great. I have had them for years and they still look like new. I also have the front mud flaps so the side of my truck still looks like new.
