Anyway, the rubber " spline ? " that holds the " glass " in the frame
is coming out at the corners. I appears that it is taking a shortcut.
I am thinking that I must take the spline completely out to re sit them. Start at the middle, stretch the rubber so that it is thinner, wedge it back in place, then finish the other half from the middle, in the same way.
I guess the rubber should be stretch just enough to fit, otherwise when it shrinks, it will come out at the corners again.

Does anyone have any experience with reinstalling the panes ( pains lol)
back into the frames

The spline material shrinks over time and pulls out of the curved corners. You can push it back into place, however, it will pull itself out again. You can find the closest end and remove the spine from that point back to the corner, then push the spline back into place starting at the corner, being careful not to leave it under stress so as to cause it to pull itself out again. That will leave a gap at the end.

Best to replace the spline. It is the same stuff used to hold screen into aluminum frame. A hardware store should have the correct diameter material.

I pushed mine back in a couple of years ago and it has not come back out yet. The secret is to do it when it is around 115 degrees outside...

Ours pulled out the first year we had it and I just left it. 4 years later it is still "taking a short cut" but does not seem to be a problem.

Mine's started doing the same thing.

I got some tongue depressors, several chilled bottles of refreshment, etc. - all ready to go. But inasmuch as it's only been in the 90s here, and nowhere near 115, I guess I'd best postpone the work part of this and just drink the chilly ones and wait until next time I'm in Arizona.

Chilled bottles -- a plus.

The original rubber material is longer than it needs to be. Pushing back into the already-inserted material will help keep the working length (and later shrinkage) in check. I don't think there's anything wrong with completing insertion while still an inch or two shy of the corner.
