Query on Segment Protectors

Hey Everyone,

I have a 34' Limited with SO (not the original owner) and have a question about the segment protectors. On my Airstream the protectors are smoked plastic, acrylic or polycarbonate, and are held onto the front corners with screws that that fasten into rubber isolated studs that in turn thread into rivnuts through the skin.

This is not a factory installation according to Inland. Anyone have an idea where these might have come from? I need to replace the isolators as some of them are beginning to shear in half.

I'll try to put some photo's up later but that's not possible right now.

Any info would be appreciated.

Our '01 25' has the same fasteners holding the segment protectors on at the rear, bottom, and they are factory. The same fasteners and rubber attachments are used under the window rock guards. I replaced one of them a while back, and got them from an Airstream dealer.

Available also at Out of Doors Mart. We had one that failed on one of the stoneguards.

Those are Southco fastners, the type is a dzus fastener. Aircraft Spruce carries them, but Airstream no longer uses that type of fastener for the Segment protectors, they use a solid piece of extrusion ( 3 spots) and 1/4 x 20 stainless bolt thru the protector, acorn nut on the out side.
