Owner's Poll: Rock Guards and Segment Protectors

I’d like to know how many ARGOSY owners have installed Rock Guards (for the curved front windows) and/or Segment Protectors ( for the lower front body) and how many haven’t.

Anybody care to chime in? Or show us how to set up a real Poll??

Curious,

Sergei

Hi Sergei, We are going to install the rock guards on our Argosy, mostly because I got them for free, I don't know if I would pay full price for them. I am not going to put segment Protectors on only because I think if they get a dent in them they look just as bad as if the dent was in the trailer. If I get a dent in the trailer I will spot repair and paint. That is another reason I like the Argosy.

Hi Sergei -- On my '74 Argosy I installed new rockguards following Janet's thread. Be careful in following those (or any) instructions. One should be sure to have enough room for the middle section before they arbitrarily place the side wing hinges -- like everything, plan ahead with a helper assisting with dry placement before holes are drilled. I didn't get to the point of painting my Argo and never even thought of segment protectors.

I can't help you create a poll with hierarchical branches dependent on a previous answer -- the software just doesn't allow it.

Serge,
I don't have them, but i am going to go to an upolstery shop and have a one piece quilted vinyl cover(thin foam covered on both sides with vinyl) made that will snap onto the window frame with ss snaps. The only time it will go on will be during towing, once stopped it gets rolled up. I figure the cost should be less than $200, unless you are handy at sewing. I just do not like the looks of the plexi covers, nor the cost.
