No Rock Guard

Hello, I am going to pick up my used AS in about 10 days, I will be traveling around 600 miles to pick it up. The AS doesn't have a rock guard, and I was wondering if anyone has any alternative suggestions to protect the glass until I can install one? I would hate to damage the glass. Any suggestions? eric

In the past I've been successful at protecting the front of an Airstream from flying rocks by duct taping a sleeping bag pad to the front of it. Seems like it should work for the window as well.

Sheet of half inch styrofoam from Lowe's or Home Depot cut to fit and taped in place would work and it's cheap. Double layer of bubble wrap might work, too.

I've seen folks use cardboard and carpeting, but the sleeping bag or bubble wrap sound like great ideas. Soft, reasonably well padded, certainly less abrasive than carpeting. If you use a sleeping bag make sure you tuck away any zippers, fasteners, and remove the kids first.

Be cautious with the tape and hot weather. Some tape adhesives can create a real mess, lose adhesion, or leave remnants that'll only come off with TNT.
