Mud/Rock Flaps

I am installing a set of HUffy mud/rock flaps behind the rear wheels of my F150. Would appreciate advise on the most effective clearance between the road surface and the bottom of protective flap when towing.

I have Rock Tamers and I cut them off so they are about 2-3 inches from the ground when the AS is hooked up. The closer to the ground you can get, without rubbing on the ground when moving, is what you should shoot for to provide the max protection to the front of your trailer.

I also have rock tamers. My understanding is that too close to the road surface is n ot a good thing as the flap could cause a wave of air that causes small stones to become airborne and strike the trailer.

I have found that 3 inches, after wd applied is the best clearance.

I have about 4" with the full width TowTector.

And a bit closer with the wheel house flaps I MacGyver'd

I also have Rock Tamers. It’s amazing to see the rain flowing out away from the trailer when driving in the rain. So I know that rocks road debris is also pushed away from the trailer. I installed them per the instructions and have not had problems for the last five years that we have traveled with them on. Great item

I use Rock Tamers. Hint: measure your cut when the trailer is attached to the tow vehicle on a level surface. Even on a level surface the rear of the tow vehicle often will be lower than unattached. Then add an additional factor for non-level surfaces.

I read the instructions included with my flaps (Rock Tamers). Followed the supplied directions including measuring with tow weight on the tongue. No problems.
Not often I read the instructions as instructions over guidance....., but when it can damage my trailer I prefer the supplied instructions over input from a forum. Just my approach to things.
That being said I do not have your brand so probably should have shut up and let you find the folks with your brand to give you the answer you seek.
