Okay, here's some relevant numbers with tongue weight found at NeatAirstream's previous thread on this model.
GVWR - 6000#
UBW (curb wt) - 4821
Tongue weight - 500#

With the rear toilet I figure fresh & gray tanks are forward of the axles and the black tank is behind the axles. Put on WD gear & propane in the tanks and tongue weight would be closer to 600# before you put any gear aboard this trailer. This keeps tongue weight well north of 10% of trailer weight in almost all practical situations. That's a formula for stable towing. Now for some customers to report back!

Yes -- as noted in the http://www.airforums.com/forums/f206...een-38602.html thread -- being the reason I brought up John Irwin's conversion 4 posts ago. There's just not enough space for everything + a bed in these shorter trailers. Especially with double axles.

Nobody has brought up the Classic-style window behind the door that cannot be left open with kids around. Or in a wind. I still love the full opening Classic windows on my Safari SE. I had those on my Argosy too. Circulation is so great that I'm sold in favor of this one point for any Airstream (compared to base model Safari/Hehr windows).

Maybe I'm missing something but what is so "strange" about the wheel box under the dinette? My 20' has exactly the same thing and it doesn't cause me a bit of problem.

Why would one want a full-size bed set up all day long... instead of a couch that you can turn into a bed in a few seconds? Wouldn't it be a lot more practical?
I once owned a 23-foot 1979 Safari that had a similar floor plan, with a sofa in the front. The wardrobe, the refrigerator, the range and the sink were in the reverse order than what is shown above.
I sold the trailer, but after a while I wanted to buy it back... I was never able to convince the new owner... :-(

I almost guarantee only 2 adults would be happy with it. I love a picnic table as much as the next person but there are many times we've sat 4 at our dinette for dinner. Of course we had to move out the beanbag bed and the 70# dog that slept (or begged) under there.

Finally located photos of this trailer. Looks like the axels are as far back as possible and with the extra foot of length (longer than the Argosy 22) and the 500 lb hitch weight, it may be balanced well enough to tow OK. I'd still be cautious with short wheelbased TVs. Another gripe I have is the location of the water heater - its as far as possible from the hot water use points. I understand the side-to-side balance factor, but it seems that the weight of the water heater could be made up for by other things such as battery placement. Such long runs of piping also make it difficult to drain completely. The legroom issue is personal preference - I say have dinner outside with guests or go to their trailer. The Argosy 22 had L-shaped bench seats over the wheelwell with a free-standing table lengthwise. People didn't like that either because it trapped them in the corner. Oh well, can't please everyone.

One of the best things we like about our 20' is the amount of counter space- and that seems to be missing in the 23'. But you gotta love that walk around bed!

I sat in the dinette area when we were checking out the trailer, but didn't slide all the way towards the wall. I'm pretty sure that the wheelwell would make it difficult to seat four adults. Kids would probably not be as concerned with the wheel well though.

I have another question, how long is it? Its a 23 foot, but how is that measured? Is it overall, end to end or just the living space?
I have a short drive way with about 23 feet exactly.

It's measured from the hitch to the bumper. Subtract about 3 feet for your living space, I think. Airstream measures that way, some other RVs go by the size of interior box.

Thanks for the response Carol, so the 23 FB is actually 20 feet worth of living space? Then add about 3 feet for the hitch and bumper. If that is correct that means that as soon as I can sell my Komfort TT I can get rid of another expense. My storage fees! Whoo hoo

You might be able to graph it out. There is the floorplan in post #3. Many of the dimensions are given and you can probably get a pretty accurate idea of scale using those. Nice Airstream!

I just purchased one from a private party in Pennsylvania earlier this month. In towing it to my home in Northern Virginia (across southern PA and Maryland) I traveled on the PA Turnpike, four lane divided highways and two lane country roads without any surprises. It was my first time towing a trailer this large. My tow vechicle is an '01 Sequoia. I used my sub-compact tractor to tug it into a parking spot in the driveway turnaround near my house.
