Our "new" 1981 Excella II 25"
Last week my wife and I ventured into the world of Airstream for the first time when we bought this machine, which is a 1981 Excella II 25" Narrow body (7ft) with front kitchen.
It's previous owners had been active in the WBCCI, hence the numbers on the front.
Considering its age, it's in great condition, but we do plan to modernize the interior, as the original furniture and cabinets are looking their age.
and for the exterior, we'll work to clean it up and bring back some of the original luster, which is faded in places.
We've heard the front kitchen model, narrow body 25" is pretty unusual, so we're hoping to keep the layout mostly original, but just updated for our needs.
We're excited to get started… we have a self-imposed deadline of being ready for early next year

Hi. Nice to meet another Excella II 25FK owner. From what I've researched, it seems that only SEVEN of this model were built. Today, as far as I know, one was totaled so there are only 6 of us left.
It's a shame your original interior isn't up to snuff. Luckily, my interior is in quite nice condition. I've just had all new curtains made (13 panels for $1600 CDN) and I'm having the daveno's cover professionally cleaned. For some reason the previous owner put carpet everywhere (incl. bathroom) so I'm trying to decide what to replace it with. I was even thinking linoleum because the prices they want to put wood floors in, (you know how little actual floor space there is), were all around 4 grand CDN.
I'd love to know what you plan on doing to your AS. I don't know what you paid but just to let you know, 2 years after I bought mine (2018), I was offered almost double what I paid. They are rare and anyone in-the-know realizes their value. I don't mind telling you that I paid $25,000 CDN and was offered $40,000 US two years later. Of course I didn't take it. These will only go up in price.
I hope you're enjoying yours as much as I am.
It would be nice to find the other 4.
Please keep in touch.
Cheers, Paul

I'm very curious to see the interior of your new trailer. I have a 1982 27' Excella that I think is also a narrow body... or at least it seems narrower than newer Airstreams.
Congratulations.

Sorry for taking a while to reply.
The interior on ours ended up not really being salvageable. The subfloor was rotten in many places, and the interior was really tired.
So we did a gut renovation, I say we… we started it, and did the subfloor, but then ran out of time/energy and outsourced the interior build.
It's finished and waiting to be shipped to us now!
Seeing as we were starting from scratch and it wouldn't be original, we didn't keep the original layout, but instead chose one that worked better for our needs.
Attached some photos hopefully they show up!
