Wheel lock recommendation?

Looking for recommendations for wheel locks to help prevent (slow down) trailer theft while it is in storage or when we are boondocking. To be more specific, the lock needs to work with 16" Sendel wheels and dual axles. Also, does one wheel lock suffice, or is one needed for each side? Does it matter which wheel (front/back)?

Thanks, in advance, for your input!

I use the Trimax lock. It goes on just one wheel, doesn't matter which one. Smaller then the Brahama. You néed locking lug nuts. Long Long Honeymoon on YouTube just did a video on it. I like it.

Can it be removed just by deflating the tire? It certainly looks like it can from the posted image. If you've never considered that possibility, it may be worth your while to visit your trailer with an air compressor, deflate the tire, try to remove the wheel lock, and re-inflate the tire after the test.

That is a problem with many of the wheel locks on the market, as other threads on the Forums in the past have shown. Some wheel locks look secure, but are simple to remove without a key if you know the trick.

And no, I can't recommend a better one at this time. I haven't researched the subject sufficiently to separate the wheat from the chaff in the wheel lock market. Here in the New Orleans metro area, I wouldn't dare put a wheel lock on my Airstream motorhome, lest someone think it has been booted by law enforcement.

I have set up a mobile electronic highway sign that had a long pipe that was carried under the trailer. It had a T or L on one end. We ran it through a spoke slot or hole in the wheel, then under the trailer and back out the other wheel. A heavy pad lock was put in a hole on that side. A carrier could easily be rigged to carry the pipe under a Airstream.

Brahma for us. Deflating the tire won’t get you any further as it wraps the backside of the rim if installed properly. Lastly, while it’s hefty (due to its impressive construction) it folds flat for easy transport. Lastly, their customer service is fantastic. The kind of business you enjoy spending your money with.

Can’t remember exactly. Couple hundred bucks or so. Called them for a dealer and they didn’t have one in my area so I bought it through them directly. Oddly enough their US distribution center is in my backyard, so I picked it up there.

Brahma Wheel Lock

The price is $230 plus shipping from Kent WA. Worth every penny. Read my extensive product review and evaluation.

The problem with coupler locks is they tow your trailer away with your safety chains

Wheel lock recommendation?

Fair point. I was just offering an option.
Perhaps if a person used both products then you have the best solution of all.

I purchased heavy plated chain and the strongest master lock I could find and routed the chain through the hub and around the axle then locked.

I agree I use a heavy equipment chain and very strong padlock. I chain both wheels through the spokes on the same side. So far so good.

Put a heavy duty lock through both chains and wrap around your jack.

The Brahama is impressively heavy and cumbersome and looks formidable. Attaching it takes a little practice, especially if your tire to body clearance is tight. It instills confidence.....you know your trailer will be there when you return. Just don't loose your key.
