Upgrading to 15" wheels on 2016 23' FC

While many are upgrading to 16" wheels I am interested in installing 15" wheels on my FC which has 5 lug 14ers'
This is the wheel I think I need correct?
Wheel Diameter: 15"
Wheel Width: 6"
Bolt Pattern: 5x4.5 (5x114.3)
Offset: 0
The center cap is included

why not try to pick up a set of 15" take offs from someone on this forum who has switched out their 15's for 16's. You couls save enough to pay a lot of the cost to purchase a set of 15" Michelin Defenders xlt tires. I put a set of them on my 31 Classic and they are working out wonderfully. I replaced a set of 15" Michelin XLT that 'timed out' at 6 years, without any trouble. The Defenders are a slight increase in load carry capacity so all is good for me. We are currently in southern Baja and if anyone has ever driven MEX1, you know what a 'tire test' is all about!

This may not be good advice -- I am pretty sure the 15" wheels coming off of Airstreams are the 6-bolt pattern. Check before you buy some.

Wheels are stamped with correct information. Replace with exact match. That is possible. I changed mine from 14" to 15" Sendis, 5 lug pattern, on a 2015 23' FB International. Used Nokian Van Tires which exceed specs of original equipment. Very very satisfied.

Can't believe there are still people saying you can buy/use takeoffs from Airstreams delivered with 15" wheels. Those are all 6 lug design. New 23' trailers come with 5 lug wheels, once and for all ...

I'm also in the market to move up from 14 to 15 on our 2016 23D. If the new 23s are in fact 5 luggers then ill solicit someone as soon winter is over heh. If not, Sendels it is, although I'm not comfortable with trimming, cutting, sanding anything plus finding fabs for the spare!. Yes we're still new to this

Many (most?) upgrades do not require any modifications. Three options regarding the spare: 1) modify the holder, 2) keep the 14" as the spare which is OK to drive on for a while, 3) Airstream says you can drive a bit at low speed on only three tires if needed.

It's a personal peace of mind issue; we wanted the larger Michelins on the road, and were OK with the 14" as a spare.

I'm going to upgrade one of these days. Have the sendel wheels on my Amazon wish list. Trying to get as many years trips out of the 14" & GYMs as we can. I'll keep the 14" spare. My son told me to look for 15" wheels from a stock jeep. He thought they had the same lug nut configuration as my current 14d. Lots of jeep buyers upgrade to bigger tires and wheels right off. I would imagine they'd be cheaper than new sendel wheels, but I'm not sure about widths.

A 15" Michelin LTX M/S fits fine in my 2011 FC23FB spare carrier with no modification. I actually kept the 14" spare for a year after upgrading to 15" wheels and tires (no mods required) , and had to use it for a 60 mile run after a road hazard blowout. It rolled just fine. I then took the opportunity to replace both the blown tire and the spare with new 15" LTX M/S.

Airstream has told me that dealers now have a spare tire carrier (see below) so that makes it easier. Now just seem to be ensured that a Michelin 235/75/R15 LTX M/S will fit on a Sendel wheel, and alas, on my 23' FC!

I hope you had a nice weekend! For the 15” spare tire to fit you would have to change the spare tire carrier. The part number for the 15” spare tire carrier is 410843-01. Any one of our authorized Airstream dealers would be able to order this for you since we do not sell parts directly to customers. I hope you enjoy your day!

You need 0'' offset make sure of that before you buy

Thanks. That's one of the reasons I've looked up, and am holding the Sendel wheels on Amazon. I can't tell an offset by looking at at, and I doubt a seller would be able to either. I mentioned it because it "may" be another option. Not sure if there's any way to figure out the offset though.

Go to Sendel's web site and look up the part # it will tell all you need to know
