Sitting bearings

Iím thinking about buying a 2006 25 foot Safari. It has been sitting in storage for two years. My question is will the wheel bearings still be ok to run? I have to put on new tires.

My first questions is how many miles on the bearings? If very few then I would expect them to to be fine. Enjoy the new find.

Repack the bearings, and check all the brakes when you put on the new tires. This way you will know everything is good to go. Enjoy your new home on wheels!!

Ditto to bweybright's question . . . mileage on bearings?

Maybe jack up each side of the trailer, using the correct jack points, and spin each wheel by hand. Listen carefully for possible "bad bearing" sounds, and observe wheel-spin true-ness, integrity etc..

If the bearings were maintained correctly . . . should be fine IMO. We had a 25' back in the 90's . . . a great length IMO.

Do you have the impression that the current owner was careful about maintenance? Service records available? Stored in the dry desert environment? Any visible rust, where there should be none?

Good luck.
