Lug nut size

Anyone know the size of lug nuts the new Caravel has? Can’t get my regular car star into the small spaces of the Caravels wheels to find out. Need to torque the wheels. Any help is MUCH appreciated.

Hard to say. Get a socket set out on the nuts and trial fit them. Both SAE & Metric.
Then get a dedicated tire iron (4X cross type) that matches your socket "best fit" to make break them. Keep it with the trailer at all times.
Then get the correct deep socket and a short extension bar to use with your torque wrench to apply the correct torque.

Works for me. Not sure about your Caravel?
CRAFTSMAN Shallow Socket, SAE, 1/2-Inch Drive, 13/16-Inch, 12-Point (CMMT47511), also a 22MM might work.

BullSharkLA1, did you find out what size the lug nuts were? I'm picking up a 2021 Caravel 16RB soon and would like to be prepared.

See the thread at https://www.airforums.com/forums/f54...rb-216955.html

for more information but, bottom line, I called Aitrstream, they said 3/4”, I got a 3/4” thin walled 6 point socket and will pick up our 2021 Caravel 16RB next Tuesday. Will post whether the socket fits.

I don't know about the Caravel, but my 2020 International has 13/16" lugs. My Airstream dealer told me that it was 3/4", but he was wrong. I bought a 6-point socket at Home Depot that works well.

Lug nuts are 1/2" diameter with 20 threads per inch. Lug nut size is given in this Parts Book on page II-2.
https://www.airstream.com/wp-content...Parts-Book.pdf

Lug nuts on each of the several Airstream trailers I've owned were this size. On all of them I used a 13/16" six point deep socket, that is until the thin chrome sheet metal nut cap came off. If the trailers still come with nut caps you might consider changing to lug nuts without a cap. When the cap comes off/loose a different size lug wrench and other tools are needed.

This can be a problem when a flat tire happens while traveling, when the cap spins and the lug nut does not. The only way to remove the spinning nut cap is to cut it off.

Thanks, A W Warn, for the referral to the parts book; that will be a fantastic resource! We're picking up our Caravel 16RB on Tuesday. This forum has been a wonderful source of information to help us prepare.
