Leaking sealed bearing on a 2019 25 FC

We have a 2019 25 FC that we took in to our dealer for the annual Forever Warranty. We bought used from the dealer in January 2020….we also took out an extended 5 year warranty from Phoenix Extended Care…. We were informed by our dealer that the sealed bearings were leaking and that they said they should to replaced (8…two on each wheel) would cost $2000.00. I read our extended policy and it states that bearings are covered. My question is it unusual for sealed bearings to leak? The dealer sold us the extended policy back in 2020. I asked them to contact Phoenix about covering the replacement …..the dealer also stated that the manufacture of the bearing has a 3 year/80,000 warranty on the bearings…..we are over the 3 years , but not the 80,000miles by a long shot….maybe 20,000…..has anyone experienced this and did you have luck with the extended policy covering it. Their dealer said they would hold charging us until they contact Phoenix and the manufacturer. TY in advance

Not sure I understand here. It is not common for a sealed bearing to leak. But it happens. Probably not to all 8 at one time. But if the extended warranty is covering the cost I would sure go ahead and do it. Be comforting to have all new bearings for a small deductible.

Not sure how one is supposed to establish the mileage of a trailer as there isn't an odometer. Unless there is a hub meter.

Is there a meter of any type?

Makes no real difference at this point since there is a time and mileage limitation and the trailer is over the time limitation.

Jtom… I’m needful of a bit more info…. You bought a “Forever Warranty”… and You have the Warranty Paperwork (presumably)…and the dealer who sold you that “warranty” says it does not cover a problem…and you was Us to tell you if that’s correct or not..?

Why don’t you read your warranty and if it says the bearings are covered show that to the dealer who sold it to you and ask for an explanation?

$2000 for wheel bearings? Find another dealership, those are crooks.

Those bearings shouldn’t really need anything, but, if they did fail, sure, replace them: I’d have a trailer shop that deals with Dexter axles take a look, you need a second opinion.

Something is not right

Gosh, I hate to hear this.
Some of this does not seem to be correct. First, there is only one Never-lube Bearing per wheel, second, unless things have changed they have always had a five year warranty. Third, some grease oozing out of the bearing is normal.
Pease see this article for some clarification:

Most of the time when you have a warranty, you will have a battle on your hands to get them to fulfill their obligation's, if they have any.

I hate to say it but, if you look up the reviews for Phoenix American Warranty, it does not look too good.
Best of luck

"Their dealer said they would hold charging us until they contact Phoenix and the manufacturer."

Leaves me a little confused. Have they already done the work? If not I would investigate it further. If they have already replaced the bearings then it should be covered?
