Hub caps or original looking wheels

Where can I find vinage or at least vintage-looking hub caps or wheels?

You can find the vintage caps on Ebay sometimes. This link - if it will work - is a set that sold on there recently.

eBay Motors: Airstream Hubcaps Wheelcovers Hub Caps Wheel Covers (item 190117351199 end time Jun-03-07 10:32:48 PDT)

I purchased a set like these last fall and I'm restoring the paint. So, I have a set of later 1970's early 80's caps like these in the photo below. One has a curb scuff similar to the set above. I can probably let them go a little later this summer when the others are restored, if your interested.

I looked at the ebay link for the Airstream wheel covers. I have these same wheel covers on my 1977 Argosy. I see that the centers on these have been painted. Were they originally painted and were they color keyed to the trim on the trailers? Roger

70s Airstreams and Argosys had the same hubcaps. The centers were painted differently. The Airstream centers were red, white, and blue (red and white diagonally opposite on a blue background with the raised lines bare metal). The Argosys were a solid brown.

PS I have a few extra for about $40 each. I have seen them go on ebay for over $200 each, but they average about $50- $75. Send me a PM if you are interested.

Marshall, you say the Argosy centers were solid brown. Was the raised insignia brown as well or was it also bare as you have descibed the Airstream scheme?

Rbolton - take a look at the link below and the photo archive - the Argosy photos are at the bottom. I looked quickly - looks like plain center caps like in the photo I posted above. It's had to tell from the pictures however but may help you.

As I remember solid brown, a reddish brown like primer color. I could be wrong (and often am).
