You think qc is so high that the Axle mfgrs are speccing USA bearings for Airstream? They're being pumped out the back door of the factory, all with Chinesium bearings. Grease and preload, you'll be fine for a while!

I read this on another forum:

"We buy a few thousand bearing in the shop each year. A few years ago Koyo bought the Timken factory where they were made so now they are Koyo bearing. They are still made in the same factory. It's the same bearing made in the USA with a different name on it."

Surprised to see this old post back up. I went with Timken. Not a necessary expense. I did like the way they were packaged and the surface finish was a lot better. I was feeling a little extravagant at the time. I am happy that my brakes and bearings made the trip to Alaska and back. If I head west again this summer I will pull one or more hubs to check on things. More worried about the brakes than the bearings. Both seem good now.
