Beauty Rings

I tried some chrome beauty rings on my 71 original wheels. Couldn't get them to stay on. Anybody else try them?

Beauty rings are measured by the depth of the wheel inset - see below. Are they continuous spring clips? I was at the factory again today - they have rings with the continuous spring clips.

Rodney,
I would not expect a whippersnapper like yourself to know about beauty rings. They are partial chrome wheel covers that go between baby moons and the rim of the wheel.

Way back when my pal had a 1970 Boss Mustang. It had stock steel wheels with a plain baby moon type center cap and a chrome beauty ring. 15" too! Very rare as most of those cars came with the optional mag style wheels.

Always thought they would look great on an Airstream.

GM used to call them rallye wheels, they consisted of steel wheels generally black or grey, a chrome ring that snapped into the circumfrence of the wheel and a chrome center hub cap. They looked pretty flashy for the day in the '60s and '70s. My '77 Vette black with a red interior came with rallye wheels. I just put beauty rings on our A/S yesterday. We had chrome hub caps but the wheels just looked utilitarian in black and hub caps. The beauty rings really make it! It looks sharp and gives the trailer a slightly retro look. They are stainless steel with continuous spring clips all around the edge that lock into the wheel rim portion. They are high quality and not flimsy, had a tough time getting them on without a rubber hammer. Cost less than $100 for a set of four from Outdoor Mart RV.
