Baby Moons
Is there a source for the Baby Moon hubcaps for stock 60's wheels that have the clips?

Both new and vintage are often on ebay when I search keyword "Airstream". They were not unique to Airstreams. I believe Chevys of that vintage also had them. Maybe others.

I've been looking at them, but know there are several different designs, some that are designed for the clips style rims and some that just snap over nubs on the rims.

Bobdrake.com has baby moon hubcaps that should work. They fit very loose but if you bend the flange on the back of the hubcap in about 1/16" all the way around they should work. I have had mine for about a year and haven't had any fall off yet.
The part number is 01A-1130-BM.
1940 Deluxe Baby Moon
These are for wheels with clips.

Baby Moons
I found mine at a flea market. They're old, dented, and have a chevy logo but I like them and they fit perfect. Not all baby moons fit our wheels with the clips. The correct ones have a large (1 inch wide or so) flange on the back for the clips to grab on to. The hole in the back that fits over the clips is about 7 inches in diameter on my 6- lug wheels. Look at your wheel and estimate the hole diameter that would work with your clips. Use your hand as a rough gage and you will have something to use at a moments notice when opportunity knocks. You might try going to a classic car swap meet and looking for something suitable.

Baby moons continued.................
As a product of the 60's car philosophy, I have always been a fan of baby moons! The problem is that most of the aftermarket moons have been made w/ a material that structurally resembles tin foil or wet newspaper.
When I got my new axle, wheels, and tires I began my quest for a good set of moons. (The two piece wheels went away--far away)
I was put in contact w/ Massey's Accessory Shop in Oklahoma City. I think the lady's name was Sheila. At any rate, she told me how to measure my new wheels and she sent me moons and "beauty rings" for my hoopty trailer. See attached pictures and you be the judge.
She was very knowledgeable about hub caps but I don't know if they handle the ones to fit the clips. The point is that if anyone would know, she would. Give them a call at 405-239-2010.
Enlarge the close-up picture. Is that a "reflections" winner or what. A fat guy w/ a flash camera and a couple of old dogs. How could that not be a winner?

$$$
If you search for baby moons on E-bay don't use the word "Airstream". All it does is add more money to the price. I found vintage baby moons for my 60 Caravel on E-bay for allot less then the ones in the Airstream section.

I got mine from Inland RV when I replaced the wheels. They are the kind that snap over the bumps on the rims. Look just like Larry's. Gee, I wish I had found a set of those beauty rings..

Cinderella's Beauty Rings
I saw a set of beauty rings at a local yard sale. They were for 15" rims. But I couldn't get them to stay on. Drat!
