Anyone Know Where l Can Get This Wheel?

I have sendel 16 inch wheels on my trailer. They are looking pretty sad due to corrosion. I've been looking around for new wheels for when the time comes to replace my tires and can't find any that I really like. Then I saw these when browsing through the Blue Beret. Anyone know where I can get these? I cannot find them anywhere.

That is a stock photo, probably from the Michelin website. Those rims are only 5 lug and most AS trailers have 6 lug ones.

Yeah, I appreciate that, but I still like the wheel and suspect that they should be available in 6 lug 16 inch. It seems that I have seen some newer Airstreams with similar wheels to this.

I suggest a google image search on 16", 6 lug trailer wheels.

Are you only considering replacing your wheels due to looking corroded? If so, there are wheel refresh companies who will sandblast and refinish you existing wheels for a lot less than replacing. I used one of these companies when my rims were damaged in a car wash.

Be sure to check the load rating in lbs. of those wheels. Trailer wheels, whether alloy or steel, are rated at a much higher load capacity than passenger car wheels.

Have them sandblasted and coated.

If it is a car/SUV or light truck rim, then it won't be available in 6 lug.

Using reverse image search, it showed the same picture here: https://www.westlaketire.ca/

and on the Nitto Page: https://www.tiremart.com/nitto-nt421...l-season-tire/

Zooming in on the Nitto picture, it shows the brand to be Redbourne which are exclusively for Range Rovers.

Don’t forget to confirm the offset dimension for the wheel.

This is the Sendel 16" that Airstream uses. There are many other styles of trailer wheels available as well. You do need to pay attention to the offset and load ratings. Airstream wheels need to be 0 offset. Make sure you are getting a wheel specifically made for a trailer.

Thank you all for the replies. Having my current wheels refurbished is a good idea. Also, I like your wheels Glenn Carter.

Source for Sendel Trailer wheels

Here’s a source for the Sendel trailer wheels that Airstream uses: https://recstuff.com

As others have stated, check the offset and weight ratings. I also recommend you get the wheels ceramic coated. You shouldn’t have corrosion problems once they are properly coated.

Your post didn’t mention the year and which AS you have. It would be helpful.

I wonder if anyone who suggested having the wheels refinished has had it done, or priced it. Three of the 15 inch alloy wheels on my Pontiac Vibe were "warped" on the inner flange area due to pot hole strikes. Alloy Wheel Repair in Atlanta re-did all four wheels to perfect roundness and like factory new refinish for $100 each, this was about four years ago.

The wheels on my Bigfoot trailer turned milky white as the clearcoat failed, and the rims were (and still are) a style that all of the Fiberglass trailer manufacturers seem to use, a 20 hole wheel known as a "modular" design. I wanted something attractive and bought new 15x6 6 lug Sendel TO3 wheels from Recstuff. At the time I bought the wheels were $109 (they are $159 now) and I could not justify spending very nearly as much money on refurb of the old wheels.

Indeed, I was converting from 5 lug to 6, so I bought new hub/drum assemblies and center caps, plus an entirely new set of lugs.

And yes, I bought a fifth one for a spare, as it didn't make sense to spend $60 on a steel rim when I could get a fifth TO3 wheel for not a whole lot more in the big scheme of things, and if i have a flat, the spare just stays on the ground, new tire goes on the rack.

Refinishing wheels is not cheap, and corrosion on them could scrap them, especially if you have corrosion at the valve stem hole or the lug nut area.

Look real hard at a set of new wheels. I think Sendel is a better quality than some of the brands.

Charles

My Sendels have over 15k miles on them and still clean to look brand new. I know because I clean, polish, AND protect at least once/month. “Protect” being the key word, using some sort wheel protectant to prevent adhesion of “road muck” causing deterioration of clear coat

Another option is to have the wheels powder coated. They strip, clean and powder coat. Some will dismount and remount your tires.
