An urgent issue

I will be towing home a 31' airstream on Sunday. The tires when I looked at it were not in the greatest condition. I took one rim and tire home and got it re-fitted with a 7.00-15 as the original. At the same time I bought a matching 7.00-15 tire hoping that I would be able to tow on Friday or Saturday and tow right to a tire shop and get the other tire mounted so I'd at least have an axle of good tires. The tow on Sunday has changed my plans. Is that rim a standard size readily available at any RV center?

The one rim I do have looks like a 6 lug 15x6 rim with 3 1/8 ID hub clearance.

The wheel has a higher weight rating than standard auto wheels. Why not take off the second tire and wheel when you get there, and take it to a tire shop that is open on Sunday?

wacnstac,

Where are you located? I have 4 original 6-lug 15" steel rims, from my 71 Sovereign, you can have if you're near Maryland.

That was my plan but I can't find a tire shop in the area that is open on Sunday. BTW can I plan on being able to change a tire on this thing by driving the good tire on one side up on some 2x6's enough to get the bad tire off? Is that the preferred method for dual axle trailers?

That is the way I removed the wheels to pack the bearings on the Safari last time and I believe that the ramp method is recommended by Inland Andy. The ramps eliminate the possibility of putting a jack in the wrong place.
