1976 argosy motorhome rim options

my 1976 argosy 24 motorhome specifies 16.5 in dually rims, (16.5x8.75)
Few tires are made in this size and are expensive. The bolt pattern is 8x6.5.

17in tires are now more common.
My mechanic has encouraged me to look for used 17in rims.

I'm trying to figure out what vehicle has those rims so that I can search for them.

This motorhome is built upon a Chevrolet P37 chassis, which is the cap-forward variant of C30.

I'd appreciate guidance on next steps.

Thanks,
Eric

Most folks change to 16" rims which were very common on Chevy light trucks and the are many many LT tires available. There are also modern allow wheels available (you fit alloy wheels on the front and outer rear, but keep a steel rim on the inner). It seems counter intuitive to go down in size but the 16" clears the brakes and means you can use a wider/higher tire.

PS You will get a more appropriate answer if you post in the Argosy motorhome section, the subject specific sections are more for the trailer folks.
