What would you do? 400-600LB rated hitch...

I have a WDH system rated from 400-600LB tongue weight, however the bambi 19 is 550LB with LP and Batteries, and otherwise dry trailer.

So this is almost maxed out and theres nothing in the trailer yet.

We camp very light most of the time, but I believe we'll be at the max of this hitch system without much effort.

Would you go then next size up, 600-800 rated hitch?

Or keep this one and use it?

Scales will tell the whole story but I think you will be fine to keep the one you have.
In the words of my good friend Rob, better not the “over bar”. At least as far as weight distribution goes and not miss spent youth.

I need to scale it for sure. I'm going to try it and see how it handles and check the weights before any long trips.

Try it.
There's a certain amount of adjustability. If you can't make the trailer level, then you needed a bigger capacity.

That makes sense. I forgot theres a relatively to it.

Stick with what you have. It's the perfect size. Look at the rating as weight class, rather than weight capacity. The next size may put necessary stress on your trailer tongue.

That was the reason I was not sure going up to the 800LB rated one was a good idea.

I just found out the husky centerline ts brand does not work on the bambi 19.

The frame is three inches tall. Must be 4" for this system.

We just downsized on our 19’ from the 10000# equal-I-zer (it came with) to the 6000# equal-I-zer. It rides much smoother and feels much better overall. We just went to Vail to a dry camping spot and filled the water about 2/3 full. We found that put us too close to our max tongue weight, but moving one battery to the rear compartment brought the tongue weight back in line.
A 600/6000LB hitch should do well.

A 600/6000LB hitch should do well.

I went with the EZ HITCH brand. 800/8000. Found it locally. My opinion was that since the hitch puts down 550 with it dry, that staying with the 600 would max it out.

I called EZ hitch, and they told me the same thing. The idea that the 800/8000 would make the ride rough was not accurate in their opinion. He said, if you went to a 10K system, the bars wouldnt flex as much and you would notice that. But most of the time, I will be at 600 at the tongue
