What are you hitched with?

Hi Campers!

What say we do another poll on what type of hitch you use?

Come on, it’ll be fun!
Just remember, it’s not scientific, nor is it an opportunity to pass judgement... so no alligator stories, I promise.

Weight distribution without friction bar. I've tried it both ways, with no discernible difference.

Still Equalizer, and I still don't type it with the hyphens.

I recently towed a 25 ft. AS from Anchorage to Seattle using a Hensley Arrow, and was so impressed by the performance, that if I ever get an AS that is 25 ft., or longer, I will definitely invest in a Hensley.

When I was researching the Hensley, the best advise I got was, "you won't regret the investment". It's hard to explain to those who haven't used them.
I gave up trying.

Try it, you'll like it.

Not sophisticated but it works

There's another friction bar on the other side and yes, I know the clips are in the wrong way!

ProPride, 1000 pound bars. Used to use an Equalizer (I don't use the hyphens either) with 1000 pound bars.

What are you hitched with?

Reese Strait-Line Hitch with Dual Cam Sway Control (Classic U-Bolt Type)
  • 1975 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible towing:
    • 1964 Overlander Land Yacht International -- 800 pound bars
    • 1978 Argosy Minuet 6.0 Metre -- 600 pound bars
  • 1999 GMC K2500 Suburban towing:
    • 1964 Overlander Land Yacht International -- 600 pound bars
    • 1978 Argosy Minuet 6.0 Metre -- 500 pound Light Weight bars
I have been very well satisfied with my older Reese Strait-Line hitch, and have been towing with the same basic setup since 1995.

Sorry, Could not vote in your poll, my hitch was not included. Andersen 'No-Sway' Weight Distribution Hitch. I have no idea how it compares with other WD hitchs as I have never used one before this purchase. All I know is that it works.

I'm surprised at the number of Hensleys and Pro-Pride hithces used. We use a Hensley with good results.
