Shocker Hitch: Experience w/o WD (on the ball)?

We'll be taking delivery on a new 28' Airstream in a few weeks. I'm considering options for hitches.

We'll be towing it with our 2024 GMC 3500 Denali DuraMax 4x4.

I currently have a WeighSafe (basic version with the built-in scale) which we used on or 24' dual axle RV, and I liked it. So, we may use it.

But, I'm looking at any "upgrade" options that might make for a smoother ride, particularly for the AS.

The AirSafe and Gen-Y are too heavy for me.

So, I'm really interested in hearing from folks who are using the Shocker Hitch (w/o WD), towing on the ball. Ideally, with a 3/4 or 1 ton truck.

Try towing with the existing weigh safe or on the ball first to assess problems and concerns, if any, you're trying to address.

For us, we need no WD as our 2024 F250 diesel is stout enough to take on the 1,000 lb tongue weight. Our Blue OX is heavy and a pain to put on and off so it is relegated to longer trips in known "windy" areas as a "just in case" insurance hook up.

Yes, I should have added to my initial post that I do plan to start with the Weigh Safe basic hitch. Get some road miles on it under different conditions (road and otherwise) and see how it performs. Perhaps no changes will be warranted.
