QuickBite Installed Today...

...I just finished getting a new QuickBite 7700XT Coupler installed on our 28 ft Ambassador. Pic's below...

I also sprung for a new 10K Equi-l-izer hitch to mount up to the new QB coupler. After finishing the coupler install this AM, I got the Equi-l-izer dialed in for the trip home, about 15 miles to try it out...won't have any real 'data' about the new set up till the next real trip...but from the 'try out' it rides just great with our Excursion V10, 4x4 up front!

I had a chance to talk with Mark Lambros, the inventor/owner of QuickBite last week...he mentioned it took over two year to develop and get the various approvals for his unique design...He's been busy getting some QB's in the hands of the OEM's so they can ordered by customers on new trailers...or made as standard equipment, etc...

If you want one, check QB's web site for their dealers...I got mine through Great Northern Trailers in Oregon - they stock a good selection, and if they don't have it, they will get QB to drop ship it right to you!

I've got to get out the spray cans for a nice new paint job tomorrow...

Looks good, let us know how it works out for you.

Mexray, I noticed a battery box in your picture, where did you get it?

Thanks,

I got the alum battery Box from Quick Cable Corp, I'm a Dealer for their products through my Battery Shop in Northern Calif...the # 120320, unsealed box that I used cost about $130.

QuickCable: Search Results

I put a Group 27 Deep cycle battery in the box to match the two other GP-27's in the AS forward boxes. I used AWG #4 battery cable for the short 'run' from the new box into the curb-side AS battery box...I was able to run the cables through one of the lower vent holes in the AS box door, then connect to the battery inside via a Quick Disconnect connector.

I used some one inch wide SS 'bands' to hang the battery box to the frame rails...the SS I use was a bit too thin, in that the box 'moves' around somewhat...I'm going to have to use those bands as a template to bend up some thicker material to firm up the mounting.

Here's some closer pic's...
