ProPride v2 WD Jacks

I've been informed that ProPride has developed a new version of the WD jacks. They call them v2 (version 2).

Looks like they have some definite benefits. One being it gives more room to open the door of the front storage compartment.

Has anyone purchased and installed the v2 jacks?

I went on their website, and sure enough. But it doesn’t give an explanation as to how they are set up. But it would be interesting to see how they work.

There is a video that explains how it works and how it differs from V1.

I’ve purchased them but they are back ordered or not yet shipping. I’ll report back after install.

It’s a youtube video. If you do a search you can find it. It really looks like a major improvement. The door opens completely; no problems. Also adjusting the hitch looks much easier.

Not ready to spend the money right now, but I could see it as being something to do in the future.

It's a $500 upgrade. I think I'll just continue to wrestle with the 3/4 opening on the front hatch.

$350 for a retrofit set. $250 if you ordered early and sent your originals back.

I have purchased a pair, but not yet received them. I ordered as soon as Sean Woodruff made the product announcement on the ProPride users Facebook page (gotta love that $250 deal!), hoping they would provide better front locker access. I could always cancel the order before it shipped if I learned otherwise.

They then showed them off during the very next episode of ProPride TV, where I asked if they fit Airstreams any differently. I was quite happy to see them demonstrate the jacks on an Airstream in that episode. Click on this link to see the demo.

How were you made aware of this special early order price. I don't see it anywhere on the PorPride website?

For what it is worth I don’t have front storage and the v1 jacks work perfect and trouble free.

I can however appreciate the frustration for those who cannot fully access under bed storage in the FB models.

Sean posted better pictures than I did, but I just did a short write up of the v2 jack install in my Traveling with Tatay thread.

I got these for my ProPRide and love them, takes two seconds to adjust them.

I just hitched up for the first time with the V2 jacks. HUGE difference in ease of adjusting the jacks. I use an angle drill to adjust the jacks and stabilizers. I can adjust both V2 jacks from one side of the trailer. Just reach across. And they don’t require nearly the amount of torque (effort) to move them. The drill will max out or jerk your arm on the V1 jacks. Not so on the V2 jacks.

Did you set the tension on the V2 jacks yet? If so did you find the cross over chart provided by ProPride to be accurate?

Thanks!

I started from scratch by measuring the front wheel well. The result matched the conversion chart.

Note to Bambi owners. The new jacks look like they will work great, but if you have a 3" deep frame you need to tell Propride when ordering so they can special build a set with a 2" deep support plate rather than the 4-1/2" standard plate.
