ProPride Tower Adjustments

I have recently installed a ProPride hitch. It is working well and I am pleased.

But I was curious which model drill others are using to adjust the towers. The drill I am using stalls as I get near the 6 inch height. To get to 6 1/2 inches (my sweet spot) I need to coax the drill and can barely make it.

I have 20v lithium Dewalt right angle drill. I am surprised that it doesn't have enough torque.

Thanks!

I just crank the tongue jack up high and use the supplied hand cranked ratchet wrench. That reduces the torque you need to crank them. Try that first.
When I get to it, a custom set of powered WD jacks are going on in place of the manual ones.

Be careful with the torque. There is a shear pin in the jacks that will break if you try an impact driver.

I have a 20 volt DEWALT three speed metal nosed hammer drill that probably delivers enough torque to break things. I have lots of bruises from that thing digging in and trying to break my wrist while drilling holes.

I've gotten in the habit of adjusting the weight bars after I have jacked up the tongue to slide in the Stinger. It takes the weight off and makes it easier to turn them. I use a paint stirrer that I have scribed a line at six and a half inches
That seems to work the best for my 2005 30 foot classic on a Ford 2003 F250 Diesel.

Duh! Taking some of the pressure off the WD bars makes a lot of sense. I didn't even think of that. I'm so glad I asked as I didn't really want to buy a more powerful drill.

Thanks for your assistance!
