Problem with trailer's hitch.

Hello all, i'm a brand new streamer although have been a long time fan of airstreams while travelling in my Trillium. I just bought a 2001 safari 25C and need to move it home but can't because the guts from the trailer's hitch have fallen out ( the clasp, the vertical shaft and spring and another shaft with a small box on the end that holds another spring and it looks as though it slides through the verical shaft) and i need to put them back together. Does anyone have a schematic drawing or explanation on how this thing goes back together or can direct me to a previously posted thread on the subject? Sorry about my description, clear as mud right? I forgot to take pics too. Thanks. william.

This is from my 75 service manual. I don't think it has changed much over the years.

Thanks for that Richard, mine is similar but still different. I have what appears to be a square pocket with a small flat piece of metal that has a slot in it to slide over the assembly on #3 in your diagram. This pocket contains another smaller spring, this assembly appears to either slide above or below the larger spring. Cheers. william.
