Parkit360 / Electric dolly for tight spaces?

I already have a front receiver hitch (Curt) but with my diesel engine I only have 180 lbs of gross axle rating left on the front with two front seat passengers, maybe 300 lbs with just me. I am not so sure it would be OK to drop 700-800 lbs on it to jockey a trailer into place. Any thoughts?

I use the parkit 360 with my AS 22FB 2017 Sport,
When using parkit360 on the hitch post I have only 30 degrees movement , as the lifting post hits the wheels of the parkit

I now remove the shoe from the lifting post. Then I lower that into the post on the parkit 360

Now I can maneuver the Parkit 190 degrees

Interesting, I don’t have that issue. I simply remove the shoe from the jack post and then move the jack post to its highest position and use the ball mount post that Parkit360 sent me.

I did get a 24 inch ball mount post. How long is your ball mount post?

I would be worried about lateral forces when using the jack post to move the AS. Aren’t there only three bolts holding the jack in place?

here is what it looks like

much easier to use than the hitch point
u can see the parkit 90 degrees to the trailer in the shot

the oem told me it works better this way when i complained about the hitch mount point limitations

with my unit, even with the shoes removed, the post still hit the parkit wheels

What length is your Parkit360 ball post?

Or do you mean your jack post does not retract as much?

jack post does not extract enough, it hits the gear stop when raised

thus my only option is the plug it into the parkit

when i see your pic, your jack is longer above the frame than mine
thus it likely has more travel than mine

I felt compelled to update this thread as we have decided to return our Parkit 360. I will not even try to sell it on Craigslist or eBay as I don’t want to put someone else in the same situation. It is not safe to move a 27FB Airstream with the 10k unit we purchased. I know of at least one other forum member who is returning theirs as well.

For those who have smaller trailers and if you have not had issues with your Parkit 360 - I wish you the best of luck.

Our Airtug arrived yesterday. Thanks to kittmaster for the installation help via phone!

This machine is much more capable and SAFE than the Parkit 360.

What model Airtug did you get? Is it electric or gas engine? For your 27FB, I would think you'll need a Trailer Tug HD Electric for <8000 lbs GTW. Am I right?

I went big, as did Kittmaster, the 15k. Should last me when I get a bigger AS someday. [emoji16]

Yep, went with the 15k electric....it is a badass machine.....and QUITE!

Built like a tank.....Parkit360 destroyed my latch assembly within 2 months of getting the trailer from brand new, had to replace the whole thing.....and they acknowledged it wasn't really meant to use the ball hitch as the main transport.......

Anyways, water under the bridge.....we have used it more than 20 times in dry, wet, and minor ice....worked perfectly and SAFELY every time.

I'm an Airtug cheerleader and have no shame about it.....best accessory I've ever spent that kind of cash on.

After reading everyone comments on the tirtug vs 360 issues I’ve order the big, electric Airtug. I hope to see it here Friday as that is when I pick up our brand new 27’ Globetrotter 🤗.

I have thought about getting one of these, but when I researched the Parkit360 the tongue weight specs were just too light. Not sure spending $3,000 is worth it unless the parking spot is really tight at home. But the Trailer Tug wouldn't be practical to lug around on a trip to get into tight parking spots.

You don't bring an airtug on a trip....you use it where the spot is needed to move your trailer around due to space restriction.

The unit weights over 500 lbs, so I doubt you'd be able to transport it with you......effectively.

So I picked up my new 27’ GT and got to spend a night in it new our dealership. Wow, it was awesome.

Upon returning home I see my Airtug had been delivered and was sitting under my carport. Now to put it to use and move my AS into it’s slot alongside the carport.

As i pulled in I thought the spacing might just work to allow me to back right in without the use of the Airtug. Well, after several back and forth moves she was comfortably siting right in place where intended. I imagine with some practice the maneuver will get easier.

So, now i have a dilemma. What do I do with the Airtug? It would be easier pulling in with the Airtug. Pulling out would be better too since I can turn the trailer around in such a way that I can drive forward out from the house instead of backing out.

I was offered a $4800, 7 year bumper to bumper warranty on the AS which I’m considering. The returned Airtug would go a long way towards paying that off.
