Old Airstream hitch systems question

I am trying to find the maker of a hitch system that my father had on his first Airstream. TV was a 1963 Chrysler Imperial and trailer was a 1965 Caravel 17. The hitch was connected to the rear axle of the car and looked like a giant wishbone, and was supported on the rear bumper by chains attached to the wishbone system and a bracket on the bumper. I don't recall any bars going to the A frame of the trailer. Anyone have any recollection of this type of hitch. So far no luck on the internet!

Sounds like an early version of the Pullrite Hitch (no longer available).

Here is a 9 year old classified add for the Pullrite hitch, has pictures to see if it matches.

Not even close!! There were 2 long arms that were attached to the rear axle close to the wheel hub, one on each side. I don't remember exactly, but I think the mounts stayed on the rear axle and the two arms connected somehow. The arms were attached to the ball assembly, which was below the rear bumper and held up by a bracket on the bumper and chains. It did not move like the Pull Rite does. Dad quit using it after he got his Reese hitch and it sat against the garage wall for years. The bars going to the axle were about the same size as the tension bars of today. Thanks for the info, but will still keep looking!
