It is a guess with a high level of accuracy.

VERY high. Either that, or it's a weird umbrella stand.

Mystery Box

Greetings Nancy!

It is a flag holder, no question about it -- it is of a design that many WBCCI member have on their coaches (I have one on each of mine). They are manufactured by a company in Michigan and often are purchased with a set of three telescoping flag poles. The company that produces the holder and poles is:

¬POLE EASE, 6501 Wolf Lake Rd., Jackson, MI 49201, Ph. 517-536-8022 or Email: swest9751@yahoo.com.

The photo below is of a flag display utilizing one of these setups that I took while on the VAC Wagon Wheels Caravan in 1999. The second photo is of my '64 Overlander that has the the same setup only the falgs aren't visible in the photo.

Good luck with your coach!

Kevin

Make a wish

Nancy,
That’s a Sanatoria traveling prayer candle alterette.

Light some taper candles, place them in the holes, bow your head and wish for smooth roads, mild weather and balanced running gear.

Om,

Michael

thanks Kevin, appreciate the photos.
We don't have flags so not sure if we will take it off and sell it or just leave it. Trying to reduce all weight we don't need.

Don't let these folks pull your leg! That device is a fishing pole holder for surf fishing. As the owner's manual says: " Be aware of the mean high tide line and time of month for your location"

Wink Serious trouble

I'd get rid of that thing ASAP. Flags are serious trouble. Gotta be certain size, gotta be at a certain height, gotta be in a certain order. Terribly stressful.

The flag holder isn't a significant weight factor as it is less than 5 pounds with its attaching hardware. Something to consider even if you don't regularly display flags is its possible value as an emergency signal device -- I hadn't thought about this until a friend mentioned it in a crowded campground several years ago -- it provides a good place to display a distress flag if you should happen to need emergency medical assistance in a crowded commercial campground or at a busy Rally. It takes just moments to extend one of the telescoping flagpoles and attach an emergency signal flag -- I have never had to do this, but carry one now as I have had one medical emergency where I was one step away from calling an ambulance while on caravan two years ago.

Good luck with your coach!

Kevin

Leave it on and get some flags, they are fun and make for a good show. I bought the 5 hole version of the holder and 3 flag poles. When I start flying 5 flags I will know I have gone over the edge.

Thanks Jim
